Genuine question, do you really own these ROMs or rent them from Steam? Practically speaking, as long as you can move the ROM files, sure. But legally?
enshittification? No papers as far as I'm aware
I'm out of the loop, what was the fiasco?
Offtopic, the cookie screen on this site is one where you have to unconsent manually for each vendor
I have listened to Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner soundtracks countless times while developing or just spending time behind the computer. Thanks for making the time go by better Vangelis!
What's the carbon footprint for these services? Would be interesting to calculate how much would an average free tier usage pollute. Are there any available numbers from these products?
There's a Finnish stand-up comedian who also pondered on the many possibilities of the English word "ass". This is him on Conan's talk show: https://youtu.be/RAGcDi0DRtU
Funny enough, he mentions the same things the article does, especially the end of it.
Nope, does not work.
It does not
This is not exactly it. What I meant was, something what IrfanView does: when you open an image (or any file the program can read), you can press a button to open the (alphabetically?) next or previous image in the same folder.
Looks like Preview only has this, when you select all files and open them (Cmd+O). Wish it was like IrfanView.
All this, and yet you can't move forwards or backwards, when there are other files in the folder. I would be gladly wrong if someone could point out how to do this in Preview
And I can add additional information next to the todo:
// todo: todoCalling them "power chords" in a non-rock context sounds off to me, though
Even jazz musicians call them powerchords
Lately, it's been down almost weekly. Not a fan of these types of services myself, but we do use it at work.
they all escalate and deepen the divide between the nuclear armed military powers.
Hello, Vladimir
the OP mentioned blockchain, so this sarcasm was directed at that
Good idea. Every time I commit and push my commits, I pay ledger fees and wait for the settlement for unknown amount of time
For one, it's out of reach for lots of folks who use shared hosting services, where there's a managed LAMP stack. It's rare if they have Postgres. If you use AWS, of course, everything is up to you. There's also a connection pooling and different startup for MySQL/Mariadb vs Postgres. PHP engine generates the page and closes itself and connections. Postgres assumes you are more persistent. Also, there's a difference in how GROUP BY works in MySQL/Mariadb vs Postgres, and wrapping your head around it, after using it the MySQL way for years, can take time. So not a drop-in replacement.
The author mentioned MariaDB in the intro and the went on about MySQL, not sure which he actually used.
I think the latest recommendation for MySQL was utf8mb4_0900_ai_ci and utf8mb4_general_ci for MariaDB.
While I agree about the Postgres recommendation, it's a non-starter in the PHP world, unless doing something from scratch. Even then, the support for MySQL/MariaDB is much better.
I do have a Boss TU-2, but I'm sometimes in a situation where I'm too lazy to use a cable but have my phone handy (because I record ideas on my phone)
Nintendo Famicon was the first console I ever played, and to this day, controller-based sidescrollers are my favorite type of games. Chances are, it's because all those hours I put into Famicon (Dendy, actually) as a kid. Thank you for all the memories!
Sorry for the offtopic, but can you tell me the name of the ad-less tuner app? I've been searching for one, but the best I found was Fender's. Which is pretty ok, too.
This needs to be archived but I have no interest in rewatching it. That day, I was a 14 year old kid across the ocean. I had just gotten home from school and was watching my favorite youth program when the guy said there has been a plane crash in NYC. I switched to CNN (or maybe Euronews?) and saw the first tower burning. Then, on live TV, on the other side of Atlantic, I watched as the second plane crashed into the second tower and later how the towers came down. Writing this brings tears into my eyes.
love it. one complaint, after I click on the "Then it show me something", it should start popping all the stuff pretty much at once, not one after another
Same here on Android Chrome
I did try to bribe the traders and get on their good side, but they always had
1. goods I didn't want
2. not enough money to buy my stuff
3. bad prices
Yeah, I didn't really enjoy that mechanic where you get on their good side, don't like it in real life either and I think that's what stopped me from maxing those skills.
I did, however, find a scamp in Caldera who would buy anything with a fixed original price and didn't require any flattery. He also had 5000 gold and when you maxed it out, you just waited for 24h
That's rich, coming from a company that authored and uploaded the most downvoted video on their own platform
