The problem is people only pay for the cool and fancy stuff. Thats why projects like blender and krita are killing it while bluetooth audio and gui libraries are in such a dire state.
Competitors have an advantage where you buy a macbook and the profits go to every single part and not just the eye catching features.
It would also cover 100% of legal speeds in my state. More than good enough for me and pretty much everyone assuming it works well at its top speed.
For all we know there is a software limiter meaning its top speed is well within the safe range. It would be pretty poor to sell a car that would fail quickly under normal usage.
What kind of source are you looking for. This is about hundreds of changes that all build up to a more locked down experience.

MacOS now won't run unsigned software. Mac Pros will brick if you replace the SSD with another genuine SSD.
Safety net on android makes it harder to use root. There is an API to block screenshots. Security changes in Android 11 break termux and all other bash apps.

Not at all. Docker on a raspberry pi is a massive pain in the ass. Half the images are not compiled for ARM.
Yes movie DRM does seem completely pointless. Game DRM on the other hand does seem to hold up for the first few months which is where most of the sales happen. It would be nice if devs dropped the DRM once it is cracked though.
I'm guessing that the people who have this cracked keep it a secret so only their inner group has the method which lets them leak all of the new content and Google has no idea which key or process has been cracked.
Its likely the end of the days of installing an alternative OS. Bootcamp support has been dropped and Linux support will likely not exist.
And then there is the OS which is getting more and more locked down so that you can not run unsigned software without increasingly difficult workarounds.
On one hand, alternative OS support on macbooks has gotten worse and worse over the last few years but it is sad to see the final nail in the coffin.
Its not a choice because not a single item on that list can be closed and let me do my job. So rather than petitioning to replace 10 years of existing software development, I'll ask for a 32gb laptop.

Victoria had an exploding case count that was set to match the rest of the world before the government did a hard lockdown. And not just the feel good ones they do in the US, the lockdown meant you could only leave the house for 1 hour a day for exercise within a 5km radius and anyone who absolutely had to leave the house had to show proof and wear a mask. I'm a rails dev and I constantly struggle with 16GB. Once you start up rails, background workers, webpack, vs code, MS teams, a database, plus your web browser you very quickly run out of memory.
The problem is less that students can look up answers online, its that they could hand the laptop to someone experienced and have them complete the exam for the student.
An ideal situation would be allowing students to use online resources but not to communicate with other people during the exam.

We used to use slack and now we use teams. Just mentioned both because its not specific to any one tool.
My favourite is to start typing the question in to MS teams/slack and often I have the answer before I finish typing.
I use apple devices because I like receiving security updates after the first year, I also like not having my phone loaded with google spyware. I do not like the inability to sideload apps which makes this tool useful to me.
The app store has almost everything I want but its missing stuff I used to sideload on android like an ad free youtube app and the app to send the payload to boot my nintendo switch with homebrew.
Because people don't want just another android phone. They want their desktop on a phone. They want to use desktop GUI toolkits, desktop package managers and all the rest. Android also contains a mountain of anti features that are hard to remove. Its also missing a lot of critical features without the GApps so maintaining a fork of android is almost as much work as making GTK work on a phone.
Apps are sandboxed already. The security of your OS and other apps is still protected even while sideloading. The only possible benefit is preventing sideloaded apps from using dodgy payment processors but thats hardly more of a risk than apps telling you to pay via their website which they currently do.
The real solution would be making the images directory not a free for all. There should be an OS filepicker which gets used to allow an app access to photos rather than the app having access directly. That way a screenshot is not instantly leakable.
It is abused, just not widely. I have seen a few apps that use it. There should never be a situation where the user is not able to screenshot their own device.
Because we are in the age of treating the user as the untrusted party. I have noticed some instant messaging apps (telegram) use this feature.
Its slightly wrong. You can't allow an app to scan for bluetooth devices without giving it location permissions because bluetooth scanning can be used to detect precise location.
at least show a sensible error message
The only way to do this typically is to either already be aware of the issue so you can add an error (And in that case you would have just fixed the issue)
Or to dump a stack trace.
It works different, you can always screen record but apps can detect it and stop playing content while the screen is recording.
Android certainly does have a feature to block screenshots in apps though.
Thats because of legal reasons. ECG is a medical feature that most countries require meets medical accuracy standards which it likely does not in many countries.
I know a google dev who says they wouldn't trust the security of an Android phone as far as they could throw it.
They have no legal requirement to update. Its also not a bait and switch, they have done this for a decade now. By an iphone if you want updates.
