I really wanted to give this a try and guess, but unfortunately, there's the DALL-E watermark in the AI images, so I couldn't even try.

It would have been cool to also add the watermark to the non DALL-E images and then do the disclosure of what is what.

For those that don't know, the watermark is the bottom right rainbow squares.

I'm actually building a simple tool that allows you to provision accounts, manage permissions and delete accounts. I haven't figured out yet if I want to market this directly to companies, or as an API for big HR companies so that they can build this into their product offering (what sucks is maintaining all the different integrations and adding more and more, so it might make sense to offer this to other companies so that they don't have to build it themselves.

Would you be interested in a SaaS (yes, another SaaS...) with the only purpose of provisioning accounts, even though at some point (when your company grows), you will probably get a bigger more complex SaaS for handling HR?

If this is causing production CI/CD pipelines to fail, this might be a bigger issue than it seems. Has this already happened in the past with npm?

You can give a try at Redmine. I've used it and I think the differences might be pros for some and cons for others. The UI is, in my opinion, bad, and it lacks some features from Jira. That being said, since it's open source (coded in Ruby), you can personalize it, add your own features (or others that are already out there) and host it yourself. At the same time there's a lot of hosting companies that do that for you if you don't want to play this kind of game. Using hosting services usually makes it a lot more complex to add your own features though!

Being best friends with some of the best in the world (+1M earnings) I really want to emphasize this. I've seen my friends be happy after loosing a hand that would have won them an extra 70k in a tournament and really mean it when they say: I'm happy because I played that well, no matter the outcome. It's all about playing a lot. Eventually, statistics pay off.

I love a comment in the Reddit post where a user asks if he takes feature requests and proposes one (triple click on text to select it). The guy, shortly after, answers saying that it's a good idea, and that he just implemented it.

I don't love it because of the attitude of the developer (which is great too), I love that it reminds me how fast it is to solo develop something and how much more complicated it gets when a team grows.

(We are a small team of 15 devs in my company and it's already super complicated to be that efficient)

To me what really matters is not how many hours of sleep I get but how difficult it is for me to wake up. I've found that there is a direct relation between this and my happiness.

In periods where I am very productive, I have a reason to wake up, I know what I want and need to do. Then I'm very happy, life has a purpose. It doesn't matter how many hours I sleep.

In the other hand, when I amb lost and don't know what I should be doing that day, I have a very hard time waking up.

Very interesting! I think you have a powerful base for building posters on the fly. Take image A, crop the background, take the colors from your algorithm and use the ones that the regular algorithm wouldn't consider (the ones that stand out more but appear in less quantity) for generating headers and subheaders of the poster. You have a color balanced algorithm made poster with just an image and a background as an input from the user.

Agree with all, but I would add a really important one that in itself could already justify using a FP.

Really enjoyed the article. I don't do ML but I'm a React Developer, so I was interested in reading the article cause it said React Native. To my surprise, I read it entirely, understood most of it, and best of all, React wasn't part of it until the very last part. I encourage you to write more posts like this, I learned a lot.

I use namecheap for email hosting. A while ago I read quite a lot and it was my preferred option. Maybe there is something better now. Regarding your other concern, although theoretically they shouldn't map my custom email with my usage of chrome or Google maps, I have to admit that most likely they can do some correlations and target me anyway. Still, they will not know about what I buy or where I go (flight emails etc)I, and that's already something.

I don't understand why Instagram would ban the company from ever advertising again. To be honest, if I was the one that got tricked, all I would think of is how awesomely they tricked me.

I think he is thinking in terms of shares of the company, not salary. Salaries in the Bay are obviously higher than anywhere else, but what people want is to become millionaires when the company they work for sells to a bigger company.

What if you had executives that actually understood the tech behind it? Isn't that also the point of the CTO being an important role in a company?

It feels so bad when all the comments are so positive and I can't view the website because it's not compatible with the app I use to read HN, I really want to see it. (it's a very popular app)

What Chrome extension do you use?

It's funny because just yesterday I was at a hackathon and made AddCoinPlus [1], a browser extension that uses a very tiny bit of your CPU to mine for non-profits of your choice. People really loved it because it is your choice to do so or not, it's not a website making your CPU work for their own profit.

You are right, it is less efficient. The thing is people don't do the donations, but they are willing to have this process in the background because they don't even realise it's there.

Hi! One of the 3 programmers here :). We made this for a 36h hackathon (Hack The North).

There is still 9 hours until demos but we thought sharing and having some people try it out before would be awesome!

We have the Firefox plugin pending revision (will tell soon when they accept), and the Chrome plugin fully working.

We used Coinhive [1] JavaScript Miner and HTTP API. We have a nodejs server, a website and the plugin itself.

What I like to do is not use Redux at all until I find I need it. So basically it comes a point in my app when I have too much information in my state and I need to share it with multiple components. At this point, I add the most global stuff to the redux store and keep meaningless things as react state.

That is a pretty decent amount of money for a 25 yo software consultant. How did you save so much?

You don't need to add the <a> tag for adding links. In fact, the page it directs doesn't exist as the link thinks ">Free" is part of it.

Other than that, I see you have around 4k visits this month and you are growing steady, but calculating worth from that? This isn't that easy. Would you share your real revenue? I would be interested in knowing that info tbh.
