Context matters - and we don't know the context of the conversation.

If the commenter was being flippant or dismissive or generally uncaring in their conversation it could be taken as racist by someone sensitive to such things.

If the comment was delivered with zero malicious intent and was merely a throwaway observation then it's not racist and only someone looking for offense would take it that way.

Like I said, without background knowledge and context it's impossible to determine if it was a racist remark or not.

I was very unconfident growing up. I had big ears and was the shortest kid in class until my later teen years. I used humour as a defence mechanism (class clown) but this doesn't work in adult life. When I got into the world of work I threw myself into learning and becoming the best at everything I did and soon became a subject matter expert in computer viruses - this was back in the early 1990's when AntiVirus software was born. Being the expert meant that when I was in a room with potential customers I had something they wanted - experience of this new threat and knowledge of how to deal with it. Put yourself in the position where you have something really valuable to offer and then learn to accept people asking you for help. This will really boost your morale and confidence. Re-invent yourself this way whenever you feel your knowledge or skills becoming commonplace and your will never look back.

I've been in the computer industry for 30 years now. Back when I started we were all looked down on as underachieving losers who couldn't talk to 'normal' people, couldn't get laid and would never amount to anything in 'the real world'. Look at the world now, look at programs like The Big Bang Theory - the world has change and the geeks have truly inherited the earth. How they are behaving is as clear an example as you can possibly get when the originally downtrodden get power, wealth and influence - they use it and say 'F*ck you' to those who laughed at them and are now no longer at the top of the pile. Go figure.

The traditional solution to this problem is to go to war and conscript all the 'spare' men. Get them killed off then sue for peace.

Yes, my understanding is they don't emulate OSX as such - they run code on the Mac Minis. More to do with Apples licensing model requiring hardware for each OSX license than anything else. I'd be interested to know what malware avoids Lastline, I wasn't aware of any and they scored 100% with no false positives in this years NSS Labs test which impressed me.

Most Sandbox solutions do their detection inside the VM so can be beaten by these techniques. Good sandboxes do their detection lower in the stack - typically in the CPU using full system emulation. I use Lastline to protect my networks and it does it this way.
