Used to love Thriftbooks. I bought several books that I couldn't find localy for a reasonable price. But then they raised their international shipping charges to a ridiculous level. A $6 book with $36 shipping is absurd. Now I could live with that if it was one charge per order, but this is per book. It's probably not their fault, but it's sad I can't use them anymore.

If it required medication, surgery or the use of an aid (like glasses) it's clearly not a feature.

I've had to wear glasses since I was 4 and would have been very happy if this would have been fixed before being born.

But I agree not everything is so clear cut.

We should carefully build up the knowledge and experience on genome editing. If we can prevent children to be born with genetic defects, we should. And I don't care if the rich and powerful get to make their kids extra smart and beautiful if that means millions of other children don't have to live with a disability.

I don't think a rifle would be a good anti-drone solution. The problem is you would be operating close to other people and missing a shot could end up killing someone else. Perhaps the solution could be in shooting a web over the drone and having the wires entangled in the rotors or maybe a tennis ball cannon could work.

I don't get why those cellphones are locked in the first place. I have a carrier subsidized phone (Belgian carrier) and this is a phone exactly the same as you could buy on your own. I have a two year contract and if I would cancel it, I'll have to pay the residual value of the phone.
