I think you're crossing reliability and availability.

Reliability means 99.9% of the time when I hand something off to someone else it's what they want.

Availability means I'm at my desk and not at the coffee machine.

Humans very much are 99.9% accurate, and my deliverable even comes with a list of things I'm not confident about

A lot of cold countries have plugs at every parking spot for block heaters. It's not too big a leap to retrofit those for some level of charging.

This is not correct. To the passengers, this just looks like another seat next to a window with a plug installed. It's not a door.

If there was a reconfiguration to a seating standard that required the extra exit, the plug would be removed and a proper door would be installed, with the associated interior pieces.

If this is a tour company, moving a plane, it's not unreasonable that they'd bring a mechanic along in case they needed an inspection on the way. It's cheaper than contracting out a lot of the time.

This is incorrect. As soon as one incident was found, they would have had to ground the fleet until they had checked all the rest of the planes.

It's not a should, could, maybe, it's a your fleet is not flying if you find a problem like this and haven't checked.

I think tying a review to your google account is also good, because anonymity on the internet is generally used by people to say things they wouldn't say in the real world, often in harmful ways.

Just an FYI, the first link (NMEA OneNet) sounds great, but isn't actually used by any of the major manufacturers yet sadly.

Also, only NMEA2000 is based on CANbus, NMEA0183 is not.

As someone with a boat, Signal K is super useful. It doesn't necessarily replace the other standards, but it means I can take my cats pajama's worth of other standards (NMEA0183, NMEA2000, homegrown Ethernet sensors) and ingest all of that data into one platform. After I've done that, it's really trivial to visualize it all in one place.

Tesla is already half solving this problem indirectly through their batter research, buuut the biggest issue with electric aircraft is the energy density of batteries isn't, and isn't projected, to get anywhere near what it needs to be to handle long range flying.

Many industry experts believe we're going to see an electrification but in tiers. Pure electric in the regional space, with more regional options than now on smaller planes, followed by hydrogen or alternative fuels powering the mid-range. Long range may go to hydrogen or alternatives, but the density is still such that jet fuel will rein on the longest flights for the next 10-15 years minimum.

This is not accurate. I don't know of a single installation within a fuselage, because the composite has enough metal in or around it to cause interference.

The fuel concern is a significant one, as well as performance. Enough fuel or performance impacts and you can restrict the airports flown with these antennas. It's not as big a problem on widebodies, but it's the reason you haven't seen WiFi on small regional or the smallest narrow bodies until recently.

I'm curious how StarLink is handling the mod and certification aspects of this.

It's not quite as easy as just slamming an antenna on the roof of an airplane.
