Do you have any actual rulings that support your interpretation?

How often do you need the task to turn out harder than you anticipate and the small model unexpectedly failing to change the calculation?
China lost tons of goodwill through its https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_warrior_diplomacy
"From the analysis, Kimi K3 identifies itself as Claude 15% of the time. How do you explain that? Qwen and GPT identify themselves as Claude 0% of the time."
Qwen and GPT have special guards that trigger when asked to identify, Kimi doesnt. I dont understand the argument. Kimi is an LLM and does not know what it is. It will give you the most likely answer which sometimes is Claude.
North Stream was never about additional capacity. It was always about circumventing Ukraine's pipelines. Which in case of war turned it into a national security risk for Ukraine, which is why they blew it up. It forced Russia to either stop its exports or go through Ukraine. Which all turned out somewhat moot in the end.
You also want suppliers that are also motivated by financial self interest. Otherwise you end at:
“The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.” ― Vladimir Ilich Lenin
The destruction of Northstream 2 had no effect at all on the energy supply to Germany. The remaining capacity to Russia was never used over 50%, if that. Considering Russia intentionally drove up prices in the months leading up to the invasion and even rented storage capacity to keep it empty to better blackmail, there never was a sane argument for keeping the gas imports from Russia going.
Because then people will just flock to open weight models that are even cheaper and Anthropic/OpenAI will go bankrupt. Then somebody will buy those companies for cents on the dollar and run a profitable token selling business for today's prices without doing any new research. New model releases will slow to a crawl but that's it.
I wasnt blind till they shone those lasers in my eyes.
I dont think these slow indicators and developments hold much water the next few decades. We have seen the first inklings what the brave new multipolar world is going to look like and it does not bode well for much of the world. As long as Russia breaks down before the shit really hits the fan, Europe should be fine(r) than most.
An animal is most dangerous when deeply wounded.
They are not. They are necessary for the development of future models, which does not influence the availability of the current ones. Plus you have chinese models distilling current SOTA for pennies on the dollar, so as a consumer I never will be worse off in the long (1-2 years) run.
To them going bankrupt and users paying another company, that bought them cents to the dollar, the same money for the same product.
Most of that wealth is just a tag on physical things that would happen anyway, just with another tag.
LLMs are a godsend in fixing emacs problems.
Everybody always spies on everybody else. Even it only to check what they are really thinking.
But then you have that week or 3 when you need all the infrastructure.`
Great, so now not only is power production nondeterministic, your cars tank also is. It was too expensive and the algorithm decided to wait charging, so no spontaneous road trip for you, sorry.
But is there anything preventing them from putting their own proprietary wolfram alpha/prolog/super duper expert system in there?
How do you get all the build system scripts/tests.... to run instantly?
Show them actual lower consumer prices in lock step with an increased percentage of renewable energy. But you cant.
Psychology has shown that a lot of those motives are just post hoc narratives, similar to LLM.
As long as the improvement is vastly more valuable in my time than the added cost I will always use the best model. I think it depends on your situation and tasks what makes sense.
I do think first past the post is a big part of the problem. Combined with primaries dominated by the most radical parts of the population you have the recipe for very unhinged results.
True, but the question is if it isn't smarter to wait for the midterms in November where it currently looks like it's going to be a disaster for Trump and the Republicans.
They also want other countries to not have sovereign DRAM capacity.
Why can't it be both?
Of course these graduates have agency. So do the companies not employing them. Telling them to deal with it is well meant advice, not an attempt to coerce them into compliance. To be honest most likely nobody cares deeply if they take that advice or not.
Also tell it to prefer easy language constructs with a need to justify anything more complex. I am currently trying to add elmish since its mind numbingly boring explicit plumbing is something I no longer have to do.
I am using https://github.com/github/spec-kit and am pretty content. I also tell it in the constitution.md to generate the .fsi files first, then write tests for it before implementation. That might very well be useless superstition since it is soo easy to fool yourself.
