I've been using Jitsi for a while, even though my company uses GSuite. Not going into details about the corporate use since many have already, but the other day it was my daughter's birthday, being on a quarantine and all and having family in different countries, I sent a jisi link to the family groups on whatsapp so we could all sing happy birthday together, everybody got in, it went all very smoothly. Better than the usual business meeting "can you hear me, I hear you, hello" routine. Thank you Jitsi team!

The domain hosting one of the files seemed too legit to me, so I checked and it's an actual website of a Brazilian company,http://cjccontabil.com.br/, seems whoever built the website got a WP (free I assume)theme from somewhere which happened to include this malicious file(/wp-content/themes/Hermes/main1.js). I guess folks are downloading free stuff and hosting them at their websites without inspecting the content of all files, so if you think you're safe by just making sure your system is injection-proof, think again, are you using some theme or plugin downloaded from somewhere on the web and if so have you checked every single file included?

At our company we use a svn hook with Jira, so all commit messages must contain a valid Jira issue ID which contains a detailed explanation of the commit itself. So our messages are always like: PROJ-0001 I did this. IMO does the job and is much easier for the developers.

Don't you get it? It's a mobile app, which performs really well(hence no cloud storage I guess) and is associated with your phone, your phone is and will be the most important thing for whatsapp, the web thing is just a convenience for while you're at your laptop or desktop, like working and stuff, I find it awesome, it's a lot more productive then picking up the phone. I don't mind it requires having my phone connected to the web, it is all times, that's the point o whatsapp.

I miss the excitement but not the uncertainty. We did succeed into becoming a big company with huge revenues, but most startups never leave the basement, we knew that back then, maybe it's just me not missing those times, maybe because I wasn't such a kid anymore, I was 29 at the time we got started and already had my first kid on the way(2 years before that I was working at another startup that failed big time but I really didn't care back then). I loved the work and truly believed we would make it, but it was hard work, taking time from my family, specially from being with my newborn, so yeah I'm good now with being "just an engineering manager" knowing my job is safe, my future is safe. I still work hard but it's different when you don't have to wonder about the company's future I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about. I might be alone here, but I don't miss a thing.
