Sorry, but both Switserland and definitly the Netherlands are further North vs a significant percentage of the USA.

Bern, Switzerland is very close to the same latitude as Quebec City, CA or Fargo, ND, USA.

The Netherlands is even further North. Due to the lower angle of the sun hitting them they might get completely different results vs here in the South-Western USA.

Windows urgently needs to revamp their driver consent model.

You can't block a just one driver. E.g. for my touch screen on the Lenovo website there is version X. When I install it the next day Windows installs X-1.

On Lenovo's website the latest version is 7.7.2.66 (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netb...).

Windows reverts that to 7.7.2.44.

I tried blocking that update with the Powershell command-thingy, but even that doesn't work:

I went through lightning cables fast. Unsure why, maybe I sweat a lot, or keep my phone in humid places.

But every so many months I had to replace the cable because the 4th pin would be burned.

I don't have that issue with USB-C. But I do feel that the lightning receiver is less fragile over the USB-C one. Removing lint from a USB-C receiver is harder.

I think partially it is because of the amount of data you can get out of an LLM and because it looks pretty good, a lot of people treat it as authoritative.

I have a ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock - Type 40B0.

Last time a firmware update came out I couldn't run it from my Lenovo laptop. I had to use a non-Lenovo one. Really made me angry about their quality control.

Next to that the dock has this weird behavior when the laptop is asleep, the monitors wake up every 5 minutes.

From my point of view, a lot of frustration is tied to LLMs not evolving at the same rate/manner as people around you do.

In Europe semi-truck trailers have stickers on them representing their speed limit. Those speed limits differ by country, so quite often you see a truck with 60,70,80 and 90 sticks on it.

You take the `other`, do a `to_string()` on it, which creates a String representation. Then you pass a reference to that String, and, in the case it doesn't contain `time out` or `timeout` or `refused`, the reference gets turned AGAIN into a String (i.e. new allocation), truncated to 48, and then returned.

There is no check whether that the character at the 48th byte is a character boundary.

Add to that the fact that this is a Rust project with the oldest commit created yesterday and it is using the 2021 edition.
