Fully autonomous weapons are a danger even if we can reliably make it happen with or without AI.

It essentially becomes a computer against human. And such software if and when developed, who's going to stop it from going to the masses? imagine a software virues/malwares that can take a life.

I'm shocked very few are even bothered about this and is really concerning that technology developed for the welfare could become something totally against humans.

Google AI mode constantly does mistakes and I go back to chatgpt even when I don't like it.

Okay I see now. I'm just shooting in the dark here, if there's an ability to generate the next best token based on the trained set of words. Can it be taken a level up, in a meta level to generate a generation? like genetic programming does. Or is that what the chain of thought reasoning models do?

I wonder if some of this can be solved by removing some wrongly setup context in LLM. Or get a short summary, restructure it and againt feed to a fresh LLM context.

I've bought quite a few useful mac and ios apps on one time payment. I'm interested in rsync.net and maybe setup a self hosting with my friends and family.

An interesting take, only if the stakes are low when the decisions are wrong. I'm not confident to have an LLM taking decisions for a customer or me. I'd rather have it suggest things to customers, sugesstive actions and some useful insights that user may have overlooked.

Our management introduced copilot last year, there was some mild hype, people were curious, gave it a spin, but it didn’t stick around in many conversations.

Now that everyone has access to Claude and claude-code, Copilot barely gets mentioned anymore. Maybe this wave dies down or they improve it, anyway these tools still have a long long way to go.

Finally someone said it, they're overconfident in their approach, don't consult us with the details of the implementation, they're trained to create mock APIs that don't follow structure, leading to lot of rework. The LLM actions should be measured, collaborative, ask for details when it's not present. It is impossible to give every single detail in the initial prompt, and a follow up prompt derails the train thought and design of the application.

I don't know if I'm using it right, I'd love to know more if that's the case. In a way the LLM should improve on being iterative, take feedback, maybe it's a hard problem to add/update the context. I don't know about that either, but love to learn more.

As a developer, you are allowed to put only one 'link' (not a more user friendly button/supporting text) to your own website for any purchase, it has to be a small font, and not in the checkout flow that takes to Apple pay. Which in itself is very scummy to begin with.

To top it, when the user actually sees that hidden 'link' and clicks on that, the user is put up with a big screen of message that the external website doesn't have security, privacy etc.

Staples, Best Buy, CompUSA, Office Depot are not a monopoly, if you do not like one as a distributor, you can go sell at another, or you can very well sell at your own mini shop, as any commerce should be.

Best Buy/CompUSA/Office Depot employees do not scare the customers and block the customers coming to you directly.

These are the few problems of monopoly that Apple so conveniently takes advantage of.

If it is possible can you share an example/samples integrating the mentioned libraries. I’m starting to learn LiveView again, mostly want to use aggrid and other custom libraries. An article highlighting the possibility and pointers to samples would greatly help everyone in this space.

OP talks about how the interviews are harder in 2024 and says candidates are using AI to crack impossible time bound programming tasks and instead recommend companies to do the interview online. If someone humiliated me, I'd humiliate them back at that same moment if it was spiteful. If I had done something embarrassing then I'd try to laugh it off before giving someone else a chance to. If I couldn't do it at the moment because of some brain freeze, then comes meditation.

The situation will play in my mind several times regardless, analysing why I did what I did will usually give answers. If it was some failed comedy I'll say to myself better luck next time or if it was general lack of attention, I'll calm myself saying I need some sleep or if it was because of lack of exposure or skill then I say let's learn that before it happens again in public.

The key prerequisite to this form of meditation is to not attach a person to an incident. Separating yourself and putting yourself above that situation generally shields you from the emotions that lowers yourself. Another separation is separating the person who humiliated you with that situation, it shields you from brewing hatred towards that person. Both are equally important. It doesn't matter if it was from one person or many, mob usually catches the vibe and will follow it. Maintain sympathy and think of their pitiful upbringing, label them as such if you want to in general feel sorry for them but with care and sympathy. Then detach them from the situation and then address the issue with some examples I mentioned earlier.

I can see why that's the case for high turnover companies. It is to track and reduce money laundering and tax evasion. Also, it has become a no brainer for any consumer facing company to not provide UPI as an option.

I keep appreciating the regulations in India, it is overall supportive of the common man. From say SEBI regulations on derivative markets to digital payments. For eg. credit cards are becoming less frequent, people here won't take out their cards for every other expense. People have become aware of the fact that money at the end is in bank and spending from the bank account hits much more real than a 30 day stream of cash 3-4 times your salary handed to you whenever you need. And so, low income and middle income groups spend wisely and don't get caught in spend cycles above their capacity.

Such an angle goes unappreciated, but hopefully this continues and money still be real and in our pocket.

UPI is not mandatory in India, don't know where and why such a message circulates. If I am benefitting with Credit Cards at petrol pumps, I deliberately use it and there's no concern from anybody. Merchants prefer UPI (for now) because money goes to their bank account without any cost. And cash still works at most places where UPI does.
