What federation lets you is view and interact with communities that are hosted on another instance, for example:

You're probably thinking of DTube or some other project. I haven't seen a single video about cryptocurrencies on Peertube.

I studied Computer Science in Germany, and I didn't use a single book during my entire bachelor. The way it worked was professors always put the slides from their lectures online, so we could reference them as sources. Sometimes, additional references or texts were available online.
In addition to lectures, we had weekly classes where we applied the concepts from the lecture in practice. Exercises for these classes were also available online.
All of this material was free for students, and created by the professors and instructors specifically for the course.

I don't see how Berlin could be considered Cyberpunk at all. Sure there are some modern buildings, but most of it is at least 50 years old. And there's no real high-tech.
I'm personally using LinageOS together with microG and F-Droid. MicroG is necessary if you don't have Google apps installed, to get push notifications. Unfortunately, it is still rather complicated to install.

50% of hashrate coming from 5 pools doesn't sound like centralization to me. Afaik many pools don't even have miners themselves.
Google is really bad with this. This is especially annoying as an expat who doesn't speak the local language. I'm really glad I switched away from Google a long time ago (using startpage.com for search).
I dont think thats the case on Android. Even apps written for Android 1.5 should still work fine on new phones.
Are you talking about iOS? Because multitasking works great for me on Android.

I think people just want to help others, and do something useful with their spare resources. I run a relay on a server on my home internet connection, so it doesn't cost me anything.
You don't really need anything except a fast enough internet connection. The relay page [1] has some stats about that. And there are various configuration options, see the documentation [2].

Iirc there were some changes to usage reporting (additional data reported), so users were prompted to enable usage reporting again.
The Android version targets Linux (due to some issues with Golang), which means it doesn't show up in the Android section. Actual usage reporting data for Android is ~2800 devices or ~11.7%.
Syncthing is entirely made by volunteers, and so far no one has had the time or interest to work on an iOS app. If you (or someone else) wants to work on an iOS app, that would definitely appreciated.
Note that usage reporting is disabled by default, and has to be enabled manually. The Android app alone has around 30.000 active installs according to Google Play statistics. Usage reporting only shows about 2.000 of those. Based on this data, I would estimate that there are between 100.000 and 300.000 active installations of Syncthing.

Google definitely forbids self-updating apps on Google Play. But I'm not sure how well this is enforced.
This can't really be solved by individual consumers. Instead, the government should introduce laws to ensure that drivers make at least minimum wage (after fuel, maintenance, taxes etc). If that is not enough, it might be necessary to raise the minimum wage.
Seems to be the same as Sia [1]. Except that you can already use Sia today.
