How does this work? Normally I download and install TTF files and install them on my computer. How are licensed fonts work? Is there some kind of proprietary installation?

I don't want my terminal tools rely on a Python pip library. This Rich really looks cool and is nice, but nothing for (my) server use.

(Thanks to @joseluis who posted about notcurses here)

ECC matters 6 years ago

I was reading it and thought: wow, this guy is absolutely right! Great things he's talking about. After reading it, i saw it was Linux Torvalds :D

Absolutly! Also, Webcams are almost not developing. e.g. the Logitech C270 is 10 years old and is still selling for 30-40€, I think almost the same price since 2010.

Imagine the phones or cameras in the year 2010. I really think the webcam industrie is a cartel (not to say mafia).

Amazing text. Without them, in their story, the history would probably totally different ;)

"And by the time we got to Rome, well . . . what Caesar saw, Caesar conquered, and we followed in his wake. We had been entreated to join his armies in order to protect Roman stores from vermin, and, locked in step with the Imperial Legions, we marched all the way to Britannia."

Why are there no real open source hardware printers? Some parts should be similar to 3d printers, probably the print head (for ink) or toner roll/drum (for laser) will be quite difficult. I saw some tries on hackaday etc, but no real printer with 100% open source & open hardware.

Does anyone know a project building that?

If you take the abbreviation style from Microsoft...

Windows Subsystem for Linux -> WSL

Linux Subsystem for DOS -> LSD

I like it!
