I want to note something that my interest some:
The second biggest fear which made Sun sue Microsoft was that when MS licensed Java, their VM was faster than Sun's. Microsoft is (was?) the king of JIT. Technically biggest since if theirs was faster, they wouldn't have cared for Microsoft's anyway. Even now CLR is generally considered much faster than JRE.
I don't know how Chakra compares against v8 but then it also depends on what makes money for MS.
Has anybody managed to customize powershell for interactive usability?
I'd love to switch from zsh to posh.
Any chance you can compare Pants with Buck?
Anyone care to compare Buck vs pants vs Bazel/Blaze?
Or perhaps write out your individual experiences mentioning:
1) Team size
2) Repo size
3) Repo programming language distribution.
4) development/Testing/build/publishing strategy
5) Of course, the actual experience
Google and Apple are competing as to which one can act more like a Monopoly as Microsoft was during 2000s.
nice list except git is not a shell and powershell is not a terminal emulator :)
