They might use your Google Pay to see if you have a credit card attached and use that to confirm you are over 18. This is one of the age verification methods YT does.

Totally agree with this. It's cool to have this data but people using shared VPNs and unique emails will be penalized.

I noticed recently I couldn't use my 2FA key to get in to Google, but I never got a notification about it. Don't know when it was removed or why but was annoying getting back in (especially as text verification was a disabled option for some reason), and then setting it back up again.

A problem I had with MPV was that turning it up past 100% had very obvious distortion whereas VLC didn't have this when at the same volume so unfortunately, I am stuck with VLC on Linux unless I figure out whats wrong.

Well I have defended Mozillas decisions in the past and still thought they where the good guys, then they came out with this trash. Waste of money. If they can eventually monetize it then great, but personally, I don't think it will generate any revenue and just be a money-sink.

I see 0 problems with this. Disney gets their exposure. Mozilla gets some money (I hope) and exposure. The users don't really get negatively affected. I hope this helps increase Firefox's market share to make it more competitive to Chrome.

The fact that Disney use DRM means that Mozilla should not have done this is a weak point at best. DRM is used by most media companies.

I feel like people just get angry at Mozilla for the hell of it without understanding that they have to pay their employees somehow. Also Mozilla could "team up" with any org and someone would find a way to get angry over it.

I switched to 1Password for LastPass mainly due to trust (due to LogMeIn), bad mobile app (always asking me to give it permissions it needs then forgetting, and more), no TOTP support, problems with extension and more that I thankfully cannot remember. Switching was a great decision.

Was watching YT shorts, and all you see is the likes. Lots of likes, and I was thinking who watches this crap. Thankfully the comments made me realize I am not alone in this though. Wish I could have wasted less time by having the amount of dislikes listed.

Now I am going to have to do the same method on YT videos as I do shorts, where I go look at the comments first which is unfortunate.

This is a real shame as I was hoping it would be more privacy focused. Maybe it could just download a list of advertisers locally and then locally compare the search text to the ads but instead everything typed in to the address bar will get sent to someone else's servers. I might have had it on if it was all done locally (but I guess there is too many flaws in doing it locally for Mozilla).

Still very sad they are doing this, but at least it seems an easy opt-out/not opt-in.

This explains why the other day on a fresh Windows install, Firefox set its self to the default browser with just 1 click. Very easy and great especially as the computer was very slow.

Though I will admit, I thought something had gone wrong and it didn't work as it couldn't open the default apps dialog.

Wait until a corrupt govenment starts forcing Apple or Microsoft to scan for leaked documents exposing them and then automatically notifying them. Just one of the many ways this could go wrong in the future.
