does anyone else tire of hearing Apple referred to as a "luxury" brand? Sorry its more Honda than LVMH

I'm an aspiring engineer with some big ideas. Now I'm learning how to make them reality.
Even a few short years ago the Model S Plaids were still getting derided for their horrible fit and finish. That's like, a decade into production.
These cars are very long in the tooth so I suspect that the Fremont line has been a shitshow the entire time.
"dude trust me"
Serious question because I don’t know about this sort of thing:
Apple’s investment in building its own in-house “Apple Silicon” is large. Can anyone definitely prove they haven’t been working on the sort of AI GPU stuff that NVidia has been?
about 15 years ago I started an aggregator to accumulate/sort/filter the best instruction of various topics, kinda like Reddit for learning. This is such a perfect example of the kind of thing I hoped would filter to the top. Thinking about trying to redo it. Is there a use for this sort of thing in today's world?
an app to communicate with my gardener.
His English is okay but we've had miscommunications. We can itemize tasks, request quotes, delineate with photos, and do basic scheduling+billing.
would also like to mention the incredible instructional work of Kozo Hiraoka for the construction of live steam locomotives. His work is art.
I was a contractor at a FAANG for a few years, and they handed me a job. In the few weeks of transition between the two (some paperwork, etc.) a job posting and req ID was created and posted on their jobs site. I freaked out for a bit, but everything worked out so I can only presume (in California) that was a requirement.
What amazed me was it said (maybe on LinkedIN?) how many poor souls actually took the time to apply to the position. It was in the hundreds. I can't help but feel bad knowing they never had a chance.
Most of them have a rigid wing and can fly and land in full transition flight.
I’m sure they’re trying to distance themselves from helicopters as much as possible since they’re loud, expensive etc too
That’s true; and I think even more recently they were in talks with Kia, who publicly let the cat out of the bag
I don’t hate the Apple Watch, but I was pretty seriously disappointed at how it looked when it came out. Great! They made a watch look like my phone, cool
Flashy? What teslas are you referring to. and have you seen the inside??

We need a more anonymous site for this. Hitmonchan.
As a generally left leaning government trusting Silicon Valley tech bro, the California PFL nightmare has been so awful it has been enough to at least instill thoughts of moving to live off grid in Idaho and starting an anti government … group
Shameless plug- Check out the Niles Canyon Railway (NCRy.org). It’s a volunteer organization that runs vintage trains (including steam engines) on the original connector route that was completed later in the year to finally connect the bay with Sacramento.
My buddy (a car guy) from Mountain View told me he could hear this thing on 280 late at night every now and then. Anyone else?
this used to be laughable to consider like 15 years ago, but there are guys on Endless-Sphere (ebike forum) that have solar on their bike that in some cases can generate enough power from the sun to keep the bike going. This would be a pretty simple calculation- I hope someone with more recent numbers could do it here

$100,000 automotive assembly line style robots to move a pizza 30” from oven to conveyor. What a joke
That should be a felony
“Quirks and features”
Not super relevant but I find this to be true when spotting a 747/757/767 vs say a 737
I think a really good example of this is the Abraj Al Bait in Saudi Arabia. The complex is absolutely massive, but the large windows on many of the peripheral buildings are deceiving. The entire thing is 2-4x bigger than it appears. It's bonkers.
Certainly not the whole population, but when SNL makes a joke about sitting at Holiday dinner and having to listen to so-and-so’s boyfriend talk on and on about Crypto, that’s got to be a sentiment that resonates with a lot of people
My stepson has one- and I was astonished how good it is. I can’t say I’ve thought about it at length but at face value it seems a marvel. Is the logic for such a thing trivial and widely available?
Was being facetious. I was saying (sadly) that HN seems to be the only group of people who value and desire such a thing
About ten years ago I made a learning aggregator (worked kinda like Reddit) that organized and rated content- so the best explanation (voted by the group) for every topic was front and center, with others in secondary and tertiary (and so on) positions. I kinda let it go. Would something like this still be useful?
Ok, so who wants to work with me on an old-school, question-everything, due-diligence, _real_ journalism newspaper. Just think, we could sell to the entire HN market!
