The first pre-release for Docker Swarm came out a decade ago, the first release of OpenAI swarm came out only a year ago, I guess I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

Haven't been able to turn it off yet. It's so awful looking and distracting, even with "reduce transparency" and "reduce motion" enabled. I actually think these settings are making it stutter more. It's definitely slower than iOS 18.

Nearly every computing system geared toward consumers has to provide some form of stimulation ("entertainment"), IMO, because the more time we spend on computers, the less human interaction we have, but our brains still need the simulated interactivity. LLMs will by necessity but unintentionally enforce phonotactics but more at the sentence / thought level.

The essay is self-referential in a sort of Hofstadter GEB way, with individual sections containing allegorical forms of distractions or diligence (the writer being distracted by videos of a skateboarder who therein is relentless and very not distracted).

He is attempting to write an essay (the word "essay" itself coming from the French word meaning "to try") about distraction, while being distracted yet somehow talking about other kinds of distraction or not. It's very good. It's like a fuller, less abstract version of the "This is the title of the story, which is also found several times in the story itself."

Didn't know about that scandal, but it's also just standard to uncreatively (but tersely) name important events etc. with a structure of <noun/adjective> <number> (Boston Six, Gang of Four).
