Sad to see, Atom has been my go to editor for the last years. What would you recommend as alternative for the average Ruby / Rails developer? I am looking at Panic Nova, VSCode, Sublime Text and others.

  Location: Europe/Berlin, soon Australia/Brisbane
  Remote: Yes (Remote only)
  Willing to relocate: No
Technologies: Ruby on Rails, EmberJS, Javascript, Business Intelligence, Analytics

I have been involved with a variety of startups for 10 years as product manager, developer and founder and am looking for full-time and part-time remote positions, either in backend (Rails) or frontend programming or product management. I also have experience in setting up the data pipeline, data-warehouses and generally the business intelligence / analytics infrastructure.

Same here! Although it seems that Ember is getting little love from the HN crowd, we are very happy that we chose it for our company two years ago. I would encourage everyone who is looking be extremely productive and don't worry about plumbing too much to take a deeper look into it.

For those of you looking for a another fully hosted solution, check out https://www.cluvio.com (full disclosure: I am one of the founders).

Like redash, Cluvio allows you to run SQL queries against your database and quickly visualize results as beautiful, interactive dashboards, which can easily be shared within your company or externally.

We developed our own custom grammar on top of SQL which makes writing time-range related queries a lot easier and allows to parametrize queries, which powers the dashboard interactivity.

We also allow to run custom R script on top of the SQL results, have SQL Alerts that run at specified schedules, allow you to create SQL Snippets and offer a free entry plan.

Currently supported datasources are Postgres, Redshift, MySQL, MariaDB and Amazon Aurora.

Hey there, after launching Cluvio a bit more than three months ago (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12684089) we have some exciting news to share today. We just launched a set of new pricing plans that make Cluvio accessible to everyone (and their moms).

Cluvio is a cloud analytics platform that allows you to run SQL queries against your database, visualize the results as beautiful dashboards and share these dashboards within your company.

As of today, Cluvio pricing starts with a completely free plan, Cluvio Free! That's right, completely FREE and you can use it to securely analyze your business data and create interactive dashboards within minutes.

The next step up is a Cluvio Starter plan, also brand new, which targets single analysts that want to have a powerful tool to analyze and visualize data, but do not need to share the results with others. The Starter plan has unlimited query executions and allows to use SQL Alerts and create more dashboards.

Cluvio Pro, already existing, and a new Cluvio Business plan together target the teams that create analytics to share, with internal users or externally.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or feedback, will be happy to answer!

While not an exact match in functionality, Cluvio (https://www.cluvio.com) is a similar product that allows you to quickly build beautiful interactive dashboards based on SQL queries (and optional R processing).

It is a platform for analyzing primarily business data, but it still may be of a lot of value for current statusboard customers.
