I was searching for a specific library for Python the other day, and Google kept pushing me to 'Top 10 Python Courses!' articles or giant comparison boxes for products I didn't need. It has decided that whenever I type a technical query, what I really want is to buy something or sign up for a newsletter.

The moment the algorithm switched from trying to understand 'what information does this user need?' to 'how can we make money off this user right now?' is the moment search broke for anyone doing actual development work. We're now filtering through commercial noise just to find the docs.

The article is totally right about what will happen later—memecoins will become like official investments in the stock market.

But that only fixes how they are sold for big companies. The real problem is still how they are made.

Stablecoins especially aren’t perfect, but for many people they’re more reliable day-to-day than their local currency. It feels less like replacing money, and more like filling gaps where the existing system doesn’t reach.

Crypto adoption has grown a lot in the past 3–4 years compared to how rarely it was talked about before. I recently bought airplane tickets and booked hotels directly with crypto, even in a country where it’s regulated — no banks in the middle, no extra taxes on the transactions. That’s a clear real-world use case of crypto enabling direct, peer-to-peer value transfer. Of course, your point is valid that much of the space feels dominated by speculation and short-term hype projects. But beyond that noise, there are solid areas of long-term utility: cross-border payments (remittances without 10% fees), stablecoins for inflation-hit regions, decentralized identity and reputation, and platforms that make tokenization/governance easier for communities. These are things that already help people today and could still grow into meaningful companies if built right.
