This has not been my experience at all and I take Waymos pretty frequently, especially at popular areas like concerts or airports you'll see a bunch of them dropping off/picking up people without issues.
At least in most parts of the US, hitting and killing a pedestrian does not usually result in jail time for the driver - unless the driver was driving under the influence or was driving recklessly. Most times their license isn't even taken away.

As a current Pixel 3 user, I think this article is slightly hyperbolic. The phone still works great other than a worse battery, definitely not "garbage". The author is making it sound like the phone stops working. But then again I still use Windows 7 which also doesn't have security updates.

I don't see the outrage. This looks pretty similar to the design of every streaming service these days? Netflix, Prime, etc. The top bar is the largest and displays the newest/trending things to watch.
The only difference is what they might display on the top bar. On Netflix they just show you the newest/trending stuff regardless of I'm interested in it based on my viewing habits. Netflix really wants me to watch Tiger King. So if these streaming services were smart they would pay Google for this ad space based on my viewing habits, or it'll be the newest/trending stuff from these services and it's basically the same/useless then.

Huh? You claim you can get the same functionality of location tracking by just taking photos of everywhere you've ever gone, and oefrha said they don't want to take a picture at every place they've ever gone (like a bathroom). I don't think his take is that narrow or regressive.
When I go to a restaurant I don't like taking pictures of the food, or pictures of the restaurant. I like enjoying the food and the company I'm with - but maybe I'm regressive.
I don't think this is true, on my account (also signed up online) I can go to the below link and click "Cancel Subscription" then choose the Use Account option instead of calling in or using their customer service chat.

Credit cards aren't for everyone, but if you can pay the full balance every month then there's no reason to not use one.
I love AMP sites that do it the right way, like Politico. Keeps the real domain, loads fast, clean interface. I wish more sites were like this. I think the first version of AMP where the URL was always "google.com/amp/politico/sdgffsdf" was awful but you can now keep the correct domain and I sometimes prefer it to the regular version of a lot of sites.

I'm seeing that etherealmind link as #4 on Google, and then #3 on DDG. And the results above it on DDG are also related to the maximum size, and the entire sidebar on DDG is the same stackoverflow link about the maximum size.
Not sure if DDG is really that much better than Google here.
Yea I'm sure brand new users have lesser ranking on Yelp Sort. My experience is just from talking to the Yelp Account Managers and seeing our bad reviews be Page 1 one month, and pushed to a further page the next month.
The company I work for advertises pretty heavily on Yelp for our 150 locations, and the main perk isn't better ratings but having your bad reviews hidden behind a different sorting system.
If you go on any Yelp business page today you will see that it isn't sorted by Date, it's sorted by "Yelp Sort". So if my business doesn't advertise on Yelp then maybe bad reviews will be on the first page of a Yelp Sorted ranking. Once I starting paying they're typically hidden. Now if you manually go and and sort by Date they will still be there, they're not deleted and my star rating doesn't change - so I guess you're technically right that I don't get better ratings. I do think that most people don't realize that the most recent bad reviews aren't necessarily as visible though if you advertise with Yelp.
After reading this I'm now more interested in the showerhead he loves so much and seems so enthusiastic about. It does have great reviews online so I might have to pick one up now.
And that is why this change is happening, it's confusing to users. Currently, I want say that if you delete a photo in Drive, it will delete it in Photos too?
Agreed with everything you said, especially the "dumbing down" of the access to some of these devices.
The entire Cambridge Analytica/Facebook debacle was possible because users granted certain apps access to their data in the first place. And with the Works With Nest program we have users granting access to their cameras/smoke detectors/thermostats and just assuming/hoping that everything will be OK. Just a matter of time until something goes wrong and Google is better off scrapping the old way and creating something new with more security - even if it means losing certain features that were possible before.
I kind of like how Google is moving all the home related products to the Nest brand. We always talk about Google branding being the worst but I think this is actually a logical move to one brand for everything Home.
I also like that I'll be able to use my google login for my Nest products in the future, and the author even agrees that the Nest app is not great and the Google Home app is what I currently use anyway for my Nest products.
I feel like the only real downside of all this is the Works With Nest platform is dead? Looks like they're working with Amazon on Alexa integration so that is nice, hopefully that will be ready by the end of August and work with more companies about integration.
The Nexus 6p was around the same price as the iPhone when it came out, think it was $500 vs $550.
The guy who runs the accelerator program at my university once yelled at me for calling my startup a website when I was explaining it to him. He told me to call it a product or a service and that I should NEVER EVER call it a website - and that "fuck, my 5 year old son can make a shit website". It really made the rest of the phone call awkward since he kept talking down to me and I was being super careful to avoid the W word.
Thoughts on his advice? He was the only investor I've ever talked to so just wondering for the future when talking to other investors...

I'm using the new webkit browser and the back button works fine for me, as does the rest of the site - great work! Opera mini doesn't work for me though, just stays stuck on Loading. I noticed someone with Android mentioning the same thing so I think it's an Opera specific thing, not BB.
