AnandTech Farewell 2 years ago

I remember reading their review for the Core 2 Duo E7500, which was my first foray into PCMR back in 2009 along with a GTX 260. FSB multipliers were fun!

Quite sad, we lost two of the greatest tech journalism of yesteryears, Game Informer and now Anandtech. Maximum PC barely hung on and later were boughtout by PCgamer.

I doubt anything will replace the in-depth tech journalism of Anandtech without visible paid biases and manipulation by big tech. I think Video centric media tech houses will rule the roost like Linus Media, GamerNexus and HuB.

Hoping Igors lab, chips&cheese and der8auer to carry the baton forward. I will kiss an old LGA 775 processor in their honor, rest in circuits.

TL;DW Does it have something to do with effective parenting, where they instill healthy food habits.. but when they enter teenage, parents award them with personal agency and thus big burger decided to target Teens?

How does this compare to shotcut, because most video editors are just unintuitive unless you know the layout of timeframes and the separate frame windows. Why cant we have a single film strip where we can trim and splice videos with ease.

A single-electron transistor (SET) is a sensitive electronic device based on the Coulomb blockade effect. In this device the electrons flow through a tunnel junction between source/drain to a quantum dot (conductive island). Moreover, the electrical potential of the island can be tuned by a third electrode, known as the gate, which is capacitively coupled to the island. The conductive island is sandwiched between two tunnel junctions modeled by capacitors.

Try Azuqua, I was their remote employee when they were raising their series C, albeit I wasn't cut out to handle their amazing product at the time when I was just fresh out of college, so we later parted ways. They were acquired by Okta, so I don't know their status now, but you could have a call with their sales team and work out a decent pricing or custom APIs for your product needs. https://azuqua.com/

As if people never wanted to whack him even before all this? smh. what about all the lithium you very conveniently buy from Panasonic, Elon? what about all wage theft which made your dreams possible, Elon? mans purchased twitter and still wants attention on the press, I am so done.

I have a controversial question for you... let's say I order a map of India from India, would you give me a map with all the sections of the country intact (Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh) or would you give us a china approved section of India without Kashmir or bits of the east (like how google serves its maps)?

How do you manage to withhold or incorporate sketchy borders with geopolitical issues, or do you refrain from serving such locations altogether to avoid any backlash?

Search for URL, should be hardcoded into a new standard| Every PERSONAL IDENTITY/WEB URL should exist as its own resource cluster on the hosting server, either as a microservice on a distributed kuberenetes and provide API's to query information | NEWS and ELECTIONS should be blockchain | Blood donation/organs should be on global blockchain | A new Data standard for open health analytics | Pollution, toxic levels of chemicals from known pollution control boards of every country, based on location should be on blockchain.

I came across this for the first time in Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift, when Takashi's yakuza uncle would quote this

Critically useful OSS has the same effect as giving someone water, people don't think where the water was sourced or what were the difficulties in sourcing said water to reach them and quench their thirst, they only think about their thirst being quenched; OSS has such altruistic contributors who chose to lend humanity a hand, but humanity just wants to be lent a hand and not care what that hand had to go through to give them these digital delights. Those useful lives of people that have been used to create such amazing wonders of software without any economical motives. Sad to see that we have created this scenario for our selves, by rewarding selfishness and laziness will only yield more selfishness and laziness, see: e-commerce, tinder or any digital service which starts off as a service to ease our burden, will only eventually push the benchmark of how much burden can be eased collectively, soon pushing us to be connected to machines and making them simulate a reality of our choosing so that we all be kings and queens in our own not-so-tiny simulated universe. Thank you for indulging my weird tangents of thought, I wish you all great health in these trying times.

It was 2001, programming using LOGO with a 5 1/2" floppy disk. I was playing with FD 50, RD 30 etc. and went crazy with all repeat statements, to made a CD like image with a hollow circle in the center, but I saw my teacher make complex flowers and curves using LOGO, so mesmerizing as a kid

Delaying genetic traits to the new world can have its disadvantages, as the embryo would not likely posses the genes/mutation sets required to live in the current world. 27 years is alright, but to think in terms of 500+ years, that's where they pull the ethical handbrakes on this whole thing (if anyone of our generations make it that far). However, this should pave way for men and women to delay having kids and save that decision for the future.

IMO there should be a personal gene bank for men and women on the Moon or the Antarctic, so they can save on cryogenic costs, it's tricky as it is the success rates are really slim, 'A New hope' or 'The last Jedi' scenario awaits

Many reasons which may indirectly contribute to headaches aside from screen use which you can eliminate to narrow the diagnosis:

#1 Eye sight/power, a simple visit to the ophthalmologist might put you at ease.

#2 Balanced diet, sometimes we consume food which may not be the best in terms of gut health or maintaining acidity in our stomach, this in turn could cause digestive issues leading to headaches. (drink only two cups of coffee spaced 6 hours apart)

#3 Effective breathing, science has linked poor breathing and mental fog which lead to many physical ailments not restricted to headaches, so before you start working it's essential to prime your mind just after you wake up since the brain's neuroplasticity is at it's peak and ready to be tamed, so meditating for 20mins with deep breathing and expansion of your diaphragm could mitigate mental fog which could accrue throughout the day and also decrease afternoon drowsiness. Also get your sinuses checked for any air blockage.

#4 Sleep, make sure you are getting minimum 7-8 hours of sleep every single day, if you say work or family or any other excuse, that means you are not effectively prioritizing your time, no matter how much work or productivity you cram in a day, if you skimp on sleep, beta amyloid proteins get built up in your brtain leading to extreme brain fog or headaches and over many years you could be on the verge of experiencing severe dementia or Alzheimers.

#5 Emotional mindset, Are there troubling issues with your personal life that occupy your mind and not allow you to completely focus, this may seem benign at first but could be the symptom of a larger un-diagnosed emotional issue which can manifest in physical ailments like headaches, digestive issues, joint pains etc. Also Chronic Stress is one of the most leading causes for headaches among adults, so be mindful of your stress levels as cortisol in your blood can alter your mood and physiological states.

and few other factors like, dehydration, skipped meals, hormone fluctuations, and exposure to chemicals are common migraine triggers. Please take care and wishing you great health for 2021!

Laughs in Microsoft by not reading the article but in all honesty, monopolies are just a side effect of unfettered success supported by capitalism, I mean infinite growth can only be nurtured by a few and if those few start early by carving a niche for themselves and make it big, you have a success story and a problem.

How long will they keep this strategy of splitting up companies each time they reach critical mass and when you fission that with govt policies, you have more smaller companies which will eventually reach that size again through shady joint practices under the radar, this will get scary if all the monopolies of all countries in the world find a way to collaborate and form this super evil alliance and throw us all into orbit with a simulation device hooked to our brains while they enjoy this planet. Imagine earth moving from pay2win to pay2die in the next 5 years once global warming becomes too hard to ignore. 'EA'

Splitting companies will ensue an uncontrollable chain reaction no single government is ready for, sadly the bureaucracy kept in place to have adequate restrictions on the fast moving giants, is also a problem which communism can solve, but leaves a dangerous precedent on the social classes with power to the political elite and leaves room for uncertainty. Let's say congress finally gets their shit together and they have this iron clad policy, yay? These monopolies would've run extensive simulations foreseeing these things and begun to course correct by the time govt enforces those policies.

Now the important thing here is the constant nudge by the govt with morally/ethically aware elected representatives who showcase a level of empathy beyond acting, false promises but rather a part of their moral fiber (they usually get assassinated and replaced) who choose to look beyond '$'signs and more at humanity and the environment as an entity to be nurtured, not to be exploited and taken advantage. This is again subjective to one's place in the social hierarchy pyramid, but let's have this discussion from the bottom rungs of the ladder for dramatic effect.

Governments should never give up, not bend to serve these monopolies through lobbying, they should keep fighting always until the end of time, this is like yin-yang, one cannot exist without the other, so there will never be a future where monopolies do not exist and we have a completely decentralized system in place. NOPE they both co-exist and no one thing can become powerful without the other opposing force. For every ton of CO2 offset, someone-somewhere is planning extensive afforestation unbeknownst to the majority of us and keep this Type 1 Civilization afloat (open for discussion and knowledge)

#offmychest I detest Ritesh Agarwal and his poorly run startup. They have absolutely no culture, a friend who was working for their Bangalore sales team told me it was a dog-eat-dog world amidst them and clearly they're a good example of what not to do after you receive so much funding(lease properties in vegas lmao instead of fixing your app and doing better due diligence for the hotel listings so that some form of quality control can be expected, they just put a big sign in front of some run-down disgusting motel which says OYO), rose too quickly and now they have to resort to all sorts of tomfoolery to justify Masayoshi to stay sustainable. I have no idea how they'll ride the post corona wave when travel and hospitality have been the most hit sectors. I pray for you man ritesh goodluck.
