Not a father but a "fun uncle" to my buddy's kids. I bought them a snap circuit set and they absolutely loved building out the projects in the booklet. In a couple years (the oldest was five at the time), I hope to revisit the snap circuits and introduce how this all works.

The unit I'm affiliated with was tasked by the university to run replications and ultimately assist with the retractions. This was all done by my colleagues but I heard about it quite often. Past that I am going to refrain on commenting more as I'm unqualified to do so.

I wouldn't cite Wansink... the guy had 15 retractions in the past year for making shit up.

I really enjoy my pair of BeatsX. They have the same W1 chip as the AirPods which makes pairing simple. They do have a cord between the buds but also have an inline mic and volume / music controls.

They aren't as sexy as the AirPods but I was able to pick them up on sale for $75 so I have no real gripes.

I also agree with her and have had similar instances in my life where I chose to be silent.

My interpretation of this silence is an evaluation of opportunity cost. I choose to be silent even though I might have something to say because I value the time saved avoiding a pissing match by forgoing any benefit of speaking my mind.

I might be totally missing the mark on her intended meaning. Regardless of my interpretation, it is pretty disheartening that advancements in various areas can be stalled due to people reacting (read wanting to be offended) rather than listening, processing and engaging.

Not to derail the conversation but this whole discussion on "productization" reminded me of the plot line of a Black Mirror episode. When I originally watched it I found it mostly absurd but now in the context of this thread it makes a whole lot of sense.

I always wondered why we only have a single election day given how long the candidates spend campaigning. Is there any reason why a 3 day window (or more) couldn't be used?

Jade comes somewhat close but opts for the offside rule rather than brackets and abbreviates class and id with . and # respectively.

I picked up this little device for $39 when they ran that sale a couple weeks ago. I ended up downgrading to Fire OS 5.1.2 and then rooted and flashed on ASOP. Basically have a Nexus-eque device on the cheap and have been enjoying it thus far.

All in all it took me 45 mins to complete the root / install but this was mostly just going slow and reading up on the process. The actual flashing and rooting portion of the job only took 15 mins.

For those interested I have bookmarked a few links that guided me through the process (this was my first Android device. Yes I am late to the party).

I too had this issue. I appears that notifications don't show in full screen mode. When I returned Chrome to a windowed app on my Mac the notifications appeared.

This is one story I always enjoy when it is brought up.

Skype is even more fun to watch in Little Snitch with all of its p2p connections. I regularly have 2k+ connections being opened to sync online state.

I tested out DataGrip back during the open beta (when it was called 0xDBE) and I enjoyed it. Shame the JetBrains pricing scheme changed as $200 for the first year for something like this is pretty steep.

Still a work in progress but with Scat you will be able to use Slack commands to create and manage issues. The command will respond with a bot to list out issues based on the initial prompt. The goal is to have nearly everything related to an issue built into Slack commands and off load some of the editing to a lightweight web UI.

I'm sure something like this already exists but it has been a blast so far playing around with the Slack API.

While a fun project I can't see anyone wanting to use this. Why would you want your commit history filled with messages unrelated to the code changes?

If you sign into the admin panel of the grandfathered domain you can add the new domain to that Google Apps Account.

Granted any settings will effect all the domains associated with that account.

Curious choice of name. I expected satire from a language called Nimrod. I don't see where this is a better alternative to Rust or Go.
