"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" -- Evelyn Beatrice Hall
I don't get it. If you are doing Linux dev - why not just run Linux?
Now we are compiling (sorry transpiling). If we are going to do that why not use e.g. Go?
Correction. No useful cctv footage was apparently available and he was wearing a denim jacket.
The initial claims made about Jean Charles de Menezes included that he ran, he jumped the barrier, he did not buy a ticket, he was wearing a thick jacket. In reality he walked, bought a ticket, used the barrier normally and was wearing a t-shirt. This is visible on the cctv footage.
The author is doing video editing work. The point of the 5k screen is to have a 4k video displayed at 1:1 pixel and controls displayed alongside it. I.e. the author may be part of that small subset of people that actually want 5k in order to do their job.
The BNP was nearly destroyed by their appearance on question time. The more publicity they get the less people like them.
Cool. I'll check this out next time. Any way to report the disappearing dev tools?
FF has for me crashed more times in the last week than in the previous year. - Multiple installs on different Linux systems. The last crash was with a clean profile.
And then there's the disappearing dev tools - that's fun.
EDIT: I hope that there is something weird with my systems. But I fear that the rush to push this out might have been a little hasty.
EDIT EDIT Apart from the crashes the new FF has been nice. I've been able to largely stop using chromium for dev work - so not all is bad.
But many of the electric car owners live in the cities. Here they can drive in the bus lanes and don't pay the road tolls. This makes an electric car an excellent commuter choice.
This is a little outdated.
The more modern theory is that walrus tusk (which was extremely valuable until elephant ivory became available) prices crashed meaning the ships had little reason to travel to Greenland for trade.
I think that this coincided with the Black death which truly devastated the Norwegian population.
My typical answer for a security question is something like "39arsrc uyrsrsaulsr8832r" and that's saved in a password manager
The problem with this is that the "security" question will often be asked over the phone. At this point an answer of "Oh I just mash the keyboard for those" is probably going to get an attacker access to your account..
Is Finnish representable in Latin1? If so you might be missing some of the suitabilities of converting from "asci" (most things around Europe weren't asci but latin1) to utf.
What happens to duplicate keys?
Really none of these should be called porn+. They are various forms of abuse imagery and are both crimes and evidence of crimes.
+ (Assuming the rape and violence are real not just actors)
True. It is a nice thing for scientific code though. Often in a field α etc etc have a known meaning by convention and being able to write them as α rather than alpha can really make longer formulas more readable.
Tried all of these - as well as space :(
Open page. Nothing works. Enable their scripts. First slide shows but nothing works - except the link to the pdf version.
Why not give a link to the pdf version in a <noscript> element?
The overhaul of responsive design mode is quite nice - and the dev tools seem a little more performant.
I feel somewhat insulted by this. I am anti-AMP from a consumer perspective - I don't want to consume all my content via a Google CDN and I fear that this may be the end game that Google are playing for.
Do look up what a race condition is.
which are not generally identifiable without aid of a debugger and the application's source code
Random behavior is usually an indication that there may very likely be a race condition without needing the source code.
Here's one :)
Many of us have already left :)
Dangerous and wrong advice. I already knew what the other posters replied with. I was looking for more specific opinions about whether it would be safe to post this link on a Facebook type platform
Corbyn is many things but he is definitely not a Blarite! The Labour party could not be making a cleaner break with the Blair era than that they have made by twice electing Corbyn as leader.
The USA does not ban secure software completely. At the moment there is a chance that a US or UK company's software is government compromised. If this bill becomes law in the UK then all UK software must legally be government compromised.
Is it safe to share this if a UK citizen? I.e. would a UK citizen be criminally liable under the Official Secrets Act or similar.
Unfortunately if your money comes from advertising your core job is advertising. So you should focus on your core business. I don't blame you for not liking this - and I don't like it either. The problem is that I like so many others probably wouldn't pay for your content/service if I had to.
I also sighed with relief. Generally this is what happens with Linux desktop through several technologies compete and one comes through after a while as the winner. Now that Wayland is actually shipping and with the whole community shortly behind it I hope to see some nice improvements in the Linux desktop in the next few years.
If someone could fix Network Manager that would be nice though...
