Fully agree here. I think it’s evident more that mythos does not deliver step change results and more is a disappointment.. so let’s hype it up by further scaring the masses of its ‘mythic’ abilities

It is sinister that this is overlooked by corporations by “accident”. What you are describing exactly what is sinister, that children’s safety controls and parents ability to decrease the risk comes last.
If more people stopped to think deeper about this they would and should be very disturbed by what this means.
Why was it extremely unhealthy? The work load? The lack of sleep with work, kids, and school? Asking because I’m sorta in the same position
Reminds me of the book “this is how they tell me the world ends” - a history on cyber weapons. It’s written from the perspective of a journalist without a comp sci background but delves deeply into the topic of how cyber weapons are procured, priced, and sold to multiple agencies in the same government. It’s unfortunate these are used for exploits and not for reporting bugs or vulnerabilities. Stockpiling exploits only makes everyone less safe
This is completely true for non -cloud, on-prem hosted code/programs, but this notion disappears when programs/software is hosted in the cloud, and updates can continuously occur
Sadly I think if or when pig heart transplants are successful in humans, pigs will be commoditized even further, if that is even possible. Poor creatures :(
Not a reason to stop this research in my opinion but I agree with the comment I’m responding to - wish people could care for the animals we treat as test subjects, seems somewhat cruel to not do so
Agreed completely. Crazy to see this endless iteration on ad optimization and maximizing screen time has made disinformation, polarization, and conspiracy so common. Really destroying society from the bottom up IMO
The free market does not regulate itself. The big plastic producers have lobbied and muddled the waters endlessly to confuse the public and blame consumers on their awful environment damaging products. Less than 10% of all plastics across the world have ever been recycled

Cool? Why can’t we all do what we please? OP has a different opinion and wants to honor the underrepresented people who inspired it
That’s so cool, did you see him in Kenya? Or how does Kenya fit in this story?
Agree with this 100%
Brutal get off my lawn rhetoric over music that is intended to unite! Man who thought this thread would devolve like this. Europe obviously has pushed the envelope and produced fantastic music just as the US has, why the scuffle?
That’s quite a broad brush to paint 300+ million people with. Techno communities exist outside of mega cities in the US
OP didn’t insinuate people should feel guilty. Those feelings you are having are of your own causing and interpretation. He was just stating facts
How did 2pac get in the conversation about aftermarket car modifications?
Never heard being a clerk is a desirable job, I'd be interested to hear why you think that? I really have no idea what clerks do, I previously thought it was just paper pushing
I've had a different experience with Spotify - their discover Playlists are trash for me
I think that's the point. Maintainers have no obligation to do anything for anyone

Between Reddit and bogleheads, that is all the financial wisdom you need. Bogleheads has deeply shaped my investment approach and it should be the same for 95%+ of other people as well.
If anything, the amount of shadow work foisted on customers has increased. Somehow it's a norm to have to go through a bunch of bullshit to have errors corrected and often just to get halfway decent service. It's obviously worse in industries without meaningful competition, but society in general seems to put up with it and assume that's just the way it is.
Worst offender who does this? US Healthcare
