Typing. The thought of talking to a computer, beyond "set a timer for X minutes" just doesn't work for me, and that is only used with my watch while cooking.

The models themselves, like GPT from ChatGPT, Opus from Anthropic, etc. are just the "brands" of LLMs. But there are local models, that run on your own hardware as well like Qwen from Alibaba and Kimi K from Moonshot.

Kind of like how Pepsi and Coke are brands of cola.

domain/llms.txt is like a robots.txt for telling LLMs how to best interact with the site. The majority of "LLM" discussion on HackerNews has nothing to do with these instruction files though. LLM, or Large Language Model, is what people outside of the tech community are calling "AI". A lot of discussion is happening on HN about LLMs because they are the hot new technology. If they can fulfill their promises, the could revolutionize the world. Currently they are pretty good at producing decent looking text and code, but if you really dig into the outputs you'll find it is often quite sloppy.

I built out battlellmrobots.com[1], it's a platform for battling bots written by LLMs. The documentation explains how the engine works, what information is available to the bots as they fight, and gives a couple example of example bots. Currently only have 3 users, including myself. Hopefully some more people submit bots and then it'll be more fun fighting a range of bots.

Start? We're well past that. If your SaaS is just a fancy wrapper on some CRUD it's already been cloned by AI a dozen times. Even if it has some level of sophistication, unless there is a trove of data that only you have access to, it's already been cloned.

Netflix is also abandoning shows after one season, so it's fair.

It's obviously hard to say how accurate these numbers[1] are, but it looks like Twitter has doubled their workforce from its lowest following their mass layoffs. It might be stable again now because they hired the workforce required to actually keep it running.

I think Elon pretended to notice it. Instead of taking his time and doing it right, he was performative in his own actions causing unnecessary problems. In doing so got rid of the important pieces as well as the bloat.

That is likely what it will be. The iPhone Air was probably just a test to see if all the super-thin components could work. Now they'll throw a hinge in the middle and a screen on the back. It'll end up being 2 or 3mm thicker, because of the bonus screen.

I host a couple of services on a box in my network. I built a tunnel that runs on the box and on my VPS to allow me to quickly access those services.

A tool that checks for new movie and tv releases, looks up ratings to see if they are worth adding to my plex server (see above about services I'm running), and then finds the magnet link and downloads them. But will only do so if my VPN is connected.

A tool that allows me to quickly build out paintball fields using my STLs of bunkers that I made, and export the full field layout as a single STL for quick painting, slicing, and printing.

I've never not found something that has been publicly released on it. Though, I don't typically stray too far from the mainstream path for the media I'm looking for.

A lot of companies don't hire at the end of the year because of holidays breaking up schedules, coupled with strapped budgets by that point. New year starts, budgets are refreshed, everyone is back to work so hiring pipelines can roll again. Get hired in early February, on-board for a couple of weeks, really start to dig into work at the end of February and early March. You don't want to look like you don't know anything, so instead of asking your coworker sitting next to you or just a Slack DM away, you throw a question up on Stack Overflow and hope to get an answer that gets you unstuck.

Based on? Chrome tabs taking up gigs of RAM would make me think ChromeOS isn't going to be very light on memory.

Creality K2 Combo[1] is pretty much spec for spec a P2S. Add in OrcaSlicer (Bamboo Slicer fork), and you basically have a non-closed system P2S. I've printed 652 hours on it since December, about 4.7km worth of filament has been ran through it. Great upgrade over the Creality K1 that is sitting next to it.
