I've noticed a lot of posts on here lately about how the developer interview process is broken and I agree. So why not put the power back in the hands of the employees?
Open to feedback of course! It's very early days as you can see, haven't spent much time marketing it but I'm about to start.

Thanks, the feedback has been good in general when I've showed people it. My plan was to start filtering by the current filters, and then if it works out I can have additional filters (think of it as an "advanced filter") where you can be really specific.
Everybody has their own preference, and I'd love a jobs board that lets you actually search by those preferences.
I agree on your first point - it's like building a social network and having no users (chicken and the egg problem). There's a lot in it for the company / hiring manager, I think I've answered this question in the FAQs on the site but long story short: companies will also benefit from having candidates doing an interview that they feel shows their full potential.
I built this around a year ago, but never really officially launched it. I got a reminder that the domain was about to expire and thought to myself "Why not post on HN and see what happens!?"

Some interviews suit certain people while to others it frustrates them to the point that they don’t even want to continue the hiring process. We believe that this isn’t good for the company looking to hire a candidate or the candidate themselves. While there’s no silver bullet for this problem, we certainly think that things can be better – much better in fact.
This is why SoftwareJobs.xyz was created. Imagine you could filter jobs by the interview type – now you can! Do you hate whiteboard interviews – fine, you’ll never have to write pseudo code ever again in front of a bunch of other developers. Maybe you prefer to do take home tests so to show your full potential so that you don’t feel under as much pressure and can use your own IDE etc. Or maybe you even refuse to do interviews unless you’re compensated for your time by doing paid interviews?
I think you're right. It all comes down to the person involved. There's no silver bullet but I do think it makes sense to give people more choice.

One thing I noticed about job boards is that they are very generic so that they are relevant for all fields. So I thought it'd be interesting to launch this so that developers can find jobs with interviews that they believe they perform best at.
It's good for both the developer and the company in my opinion, I went in to more detail on the site about that. But basically - this is an MVP site to filter jobs by interview type such as whiteboard interviews (ewww), take home tests, online tests etc. Some developers lean towards take home tests so they aren't under as much pressure while others hate them because they'd spend too much time on it so would rather an online test for example.
It's an MVP as you can probably tell, but in the future I could add more things that developers care about such as open plan offices, remote work and so on.
That's not a bad idea. I think I'll make something like this, a site that let's you search for dev jobs with filters that devs actually care about. Any other suggestions for filters?

Because the sites that have set up the paywall will report the extension and get it taken down, happened to an extension that I made a while back that had a similar idea.
After seeing the thread on here about how you can collect huge amounts of data using WhatsApp a few days ago I had to have a mess about with this.
To set up a business account with Fire the company needs to be registered in the UK or Ireland, we have plenty of people accessing the account from elsewhere so yep - that's fine.
It's one of our selling points actually. In the past people that live elsewhere would have to fly over to the UK to set up an account for example!
I saw Root posted on here today (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14256300) and thought I'd post about Fire (I've been working for Fire for a few years now).
A few months back we rebranded from PayWithFire.com to Fire.com which was a big step for the company. It's open to UK and Irish customers, but we're hoping to expand to elsewhere in the future.
At the moment the big banks are very slow here (probably the same in the US), when you want to open a bank account it takes a few months (and you'll have to actually go to a bank to apply!), at that stage you just get one currency, if you want another you'll have to go through another application process which also takes around 3 months - not good.
With Fire you can apply fully online and within 24 hours get up and running (both a £ and € account). If you want even more accounts, you can get another by just clicking "Add account" and you're done. Not to mention the banks charge ridiculous fees for startups that only have a few payments coming in now and again, who would much prefer fees based on usage. There's read only API access to the business account too which is handy for developers!
The feedback has been really positive from startups that just can't wait months and months to get access to a bank account. There's a personal app too which I suppose is similar to Venmo in the US. If anyone has any questions give us a shout.
You can create a list of people and then view just their tweets. Twitter keeps this fairly hidden away for whatever reason. So you could have a "News" list or whatever. I think that's what you mean anyway.
Can't believe I'm posting something positive about the Irish government but they recently launched this site which is actually pretty decent. Pity other governments don't do the same. http://whereyourmoneygoes.gov.ie
I'm talking about compared to yesterday, not the highs from today. It hasn't dropped by 200 since I posted my comment.
Yet the price has only dropped around 80 dollars compared to yesterday. Not too bad. For a few minutes it dropped by around 250 dollars but it picked up quickly somehow.
I put this together really quickly from what I've seen online. Would be good to get people contributing just to see how many sites depend on one service.
Doesn't ublock block requests to the likes of GA?

I'm going to look in to this and develop a skill that allows someone to ask for help. Unless it has already been done,will check it out.
