Funnily this is the same thing I tried to do just last month, Installed CachyOS after not having Linux on my desktop for a very long time, tried installing Battle.net and just ran into too many issues and haven't come back yet (to be honest I didn't try too many avenues to fix it).

If you don't mind me asking what was the tinkering you had to do to make this work? Thanks!

I moved from pihole to Technitium a few months back because I wanted more DNS features than just adding A and CNAME records.

For example the split horizon features to return different responses to DNS queries depending if I'm connected to my Tailscale network or not has been pretty slick.

If you opt to use import-maps I think you can get away without needing node these days, though then you're using import maps and have to deal with that can of worms.

I came to write exactly this comment, specifically I wanted to check what the pricing for forward geocoding was, as I've got a very significant monthly Google Maps bill for geocoding and if Radar gives results which are 95% as good as Google's at a cheaper price then I'd be jumping

Sanderson's Skyward Flight series (a few things came out this year, it's young-adult but thoughtfully enjoyable and easy to consume).

I read a few Asimov's this year I hadn't gotten around to, but the two that really stood out were 'The Gods Themselve's and 'The End of Eternity'.

Affected Optus customer here (received email indicated I was impacted). They never had my passport details (there have been some links going around when logged in to see the payload of your PI involved in the breach) but they certainly have my name, address, phone number and drivers license number in the data.

Fortunately we're able (in South Australia) to get our drivers licenses changed over free of change if impacted, which I'll do but now that's something else I need to get around to doing... I wonder how many of these costs will be forwarded on to Optus on behalf of the goverment

Piggybacking on a reply to this comment, if you want to go an alternative (or additive) route of Usenet you can look to add NZBGet (or SABnzbd) with NZBHydra to manage Usenet downloading and indexer search respectively.

In respect to this my setup for this (on Docker) looks like: radarr, sonarr, nzbget and nzbhydra. I serve my media using Plex (there are a lot of great alternatives to Plex out there also but I'm still very happy with Plex even as a non-paid user).

Was very worried when I checked through the 5x 3TB My Books I have to find that all the data was ok - which I thought was odd as they're very old models.

Turns out at the start of COVID I re-did my home networking and the gateway addresses on all the My Books were incorrect, so they haven't had internet connectivity for over a year... (quickly adds extra firewall rules to prevent them for bonus safety).

Something from Mikrotik, perhaps a hAP AC2? I'm a big fan of RouterOS for a home/prosumer use-case (I used a hEX myself)

How have you found MacOS' font rendering on the 1440p display? I've been having all sorts of trouble in some applications having terrible font rendering while others are perfectly fine running at the monitor's native resolution.

I really love the admin interface, so many Rails CMSs I've played with don't look as polished, so something that I can hand off to a client which looks as polished as this is certainly a major plus!

Perhaps with a lot of people having HN in Google Reader helps them index it a lot quicker (they don't really have to crawl, seeing how they're already fetching the feed fairly often). I notice updates to my personal blog will appear in google very fast (30 minutes).

We've had this problem a lot, even with specific in house policies for how mail should be sent from our web applications. I've found that making sure the SPF record is correct and very 'tight' helps a lot. Also make sure before you're mail server isn't running as an open relay well before you send a test e-mail to Hotmail (make sure everything is perfect before you send to hotmail).

After that, don't just start sending a large bulk of e-mail to hotmail, send a few (they'll run some tests, open port, check SPF, etc!!). After a bit then start shipping mail out to hotmail.

Even after all of this you can still be up the creak, we've gone to using AuthSMTP at work now (having Postfix directly proxy the requests on). It's fast and we can deliver to hotmail (a lot less stuffing around).

I would choose facebooker. Development of rfacebook is dead, even the previous maintainer suggests using facebooker. You'll find for most of it they're really similar, provide you with similar functionality, one's in current development and one's dead, you pick :).

I have a few applications up using rfacebook and won't change though (it's too much effort), though all new project's I start (for work of course) will be with facebooker.

I came here to say pretty much the same comment, haml is awesome (I'd much rather use it in a project than something equivilant to generate xhtml [sass is nice too :P]).

We use Analytics primarily here, I've always wanted to give RM-Manage a go (interface looks pretty).

One app we're currently trialing with scout (scoutapp.com).. looks promising so far, I haven't had a chance to go in and really look at the data produced to far though.
