That itch is the issue. Thats what I am worried about. Will more thinking based on the ideas I am getting from you guys. Thanks!
http://www.unrabble.com looks good. Liked the way you are allowing profile import from LinkedIn/Facebook. Wonder why you don't allow importing data from word resume.
I agree with checklist. This list is perfect for most startups but launch quick is not good enough. We need to launch and need to get good feedback so we can fix those issues. Sometime it is hard to get feedback. In that case we need someone who can market our product or who has good contacts to get the word out. Technical people like me has hard time to sell the product or idea. So for me (14) Hire or find co-founder with marketing skills.
By the way now half complete Netvorx.com is on ebay

but let me know if someone with connection wanna be partner ( like PG ;) ) .. It seems like you need connection more than idea

Well my English has grammatical mistakes but it seems like my idea doesn't have that much issue. Yammer has announced my idea ( point 2 ) today... lets see whether it came from Hacker News Posting or it came from their brain :) We will see when Yammer releases that ...
Cool!.Count me in your user count :)
Thats TRUE hacker news :) Thanks for sharing this link.
Congrats! After a marriage things changes a bit. PG and Jessica are involved with YC so, lets hope there is no side effects on YC :)
I posted this just for people with smart brain to understand how things turns up. Sorry if you thought that this was for everyone - including you.
Well that could be it. But still i think - if idea is adding more value to current industry then there is a scope. But I am not PG ( not yet ;) ) so, my thinking doesn't count ( counts for me - not for others ).
I am Ruby learner. The way ruby works with DB is problem for novice. If programmer don't do careful coding for caching then it is bound to cause problem. Ruby hype is all around auto code generation and simple coding/scripting. But when you are writing enterprise level apps then there is more to consider.
Best is to learn coding. Today or tomorrow you will need to do that to keep your bills in low range.
I personally have seen many people who got many advantages due to look...
cutting hair...seems hobbie more than time saver.. it takes 10-15 minutes if we go on odd time..so, i don't think it is time saver..
You generally mention that "ideas are less valuable than they think" but still I believe that to become successful - you have to have good idea. If you have bad idea but still founders are dedicated then over the time they could change that idea and they could become successful but thats longer process ( changing idea on the way is going to take long time to release the product compare to starting with right idea..) and sometime timing is also very important ...
Answer for this question is different based on location. If you are in US then degree is not that important as there are many people in US at higher post - based on knowledge rather than degree but if you are in country like India then degree matters because you won't even get chance for interview without good degree..
do u have any links/books which gives more detail about what you have typed in this?
I have been thinking about same area for quite a while and not able to convince myself because there are many different sites with some partial information. And startup market has not large user base.. larger market <= more user and some day that returns more money compare to site with less user base.... well thats my thinking..
Did u apply? and did u get confirmation email? I have applied and never received any confirmation email.
Yep, I have 10 years experience..I am java/j2ee programmer and architect .. I have done Computer engineering ....coding in any language is not an issue

I am trying things in part-time - on and off - for last 7-8 years. It just affects your day to day work/family life ( as I tried all that in part-time ) ..so now I just want to give a final shot ( start in fulltime or not ...) by end of next year. I am not running AWAY..but it is something which i wanna do and thats my goal...
I have tried few things with friends and it didn't work out in part-time. I am willing to bite a bullet and want to try with full dedication but in that case I have to look for someone who is ready to do it fulltime.
Yep, we need that detail. I still don't get - how and when my points are increasing.
Yep, After reading detail and checking their site - I am tempted to apply for this job but I won't because still I am not at a stage to decide between own startup vs joining startup.
Well looks like you are not happy with Ruby. I am Java Programmer/Architect. Every where there is a Ruby buzz. So, I am just looking for good place to find some articles which compares Ruby and Java and one I pointed out here has some detail which is helpful.
Most of the people wants to maintain health so, now a days marathon attracts many people and that makes a difference.
Yep. It depends on what people are discussing. If it is not interesting or something which i couldn't understand then in that situation I am giving impression that I am introvert. But I am extrovert in other cases because i have common interest or things to discuss...
Totally agree. It is always good to tell the truth so that person on another side stops guessing the reason.
We got rejected by YC and I am just guessing the reasons. Thinking that all founder aren't ready to move to SV for three months and also few are not ready to leave their full time job...etc... but still it is just guessing game... hey could you tell PG to tell everyone about reason for rejection ;)
Few people might not able to digest the reason..but all are not same...many can take that as a advise and that could help in future..
