That's such an insightful post! That's also why I find it so interesting when people career swap into engineering. They have a whole lot of domain knowledge and alternative perspective that can be incredible valuable.

Normals is not the same as normal maps.
I've only been programming in CRUD and APIs using js, python and go building web applications, but am currently excited to change domain to computer graphics developing c++ desktop applications. Maybe a different domain of programming could be interesting?
