There are few things as satisfying than watching Oracle lose court cases.
I’ve experienced the same as you, I’ve lost many hours to fixing different protocol time out errors. We’re running it in ECS now and it’s pretty stable, every now and then one pops up but is fixed by retrying the job.
They use multiple services including AWS, Oracle, Azure, and their own data center.

I think it will take more than legislate alone but I think it would be a step in the right direction. I just really want some transparency. Recording where everyone is going and having a mass database of it and then PRISM collecting all information about who you call and your online activities is a very worrying idea and it is 70% implemented.
It is inevitable that they will use drones to spy on us. It is cheap and easy, why send teams of people to track someone 24/7 when you can have a robot do it for you. Unless new laws are brought in this will become regular practice. We have all seen the drones DARPA are working on.

I agree, but I doubt they will have to wait weeks for a fix. Sony will have a patch within a day or two.
They are not bricked, the update is just buggy. They will release a fix and you will have to put it on a USB and upgrade from that. Bricked means it is completely unusable. It is a sensationalized title.
It depends on the company, some would lose out on government contracts, I dare say a few anti-trust investigations would popup or some new laws that the company wouldn't like. They can make life very difficult for them.
I think everything is to fresh for us to come up with a picture about what is going on. These companies require their users trust to run and they could face action by governments if they have been giving user data over to the US so they are not going to come out and say. “Hell yeah we did" but for all we know they are telling the truth. We need more information. Right now it is a clusterfuck of claims and denials. Someone is lying, place your bets on who...
