And why would it be so bad to have a programmer's mythology? Sure it isn't factual history but it lets us explain the world we see around us in a memorable and understandable way.

With javascript disabled, I am only locked out when the author didn't intend to do so.

The page source is still readable if you need a quick fix, unlike most other "requires javascript" sites.

The NOS reported that at least four important political parties are outraged and want an investigation on the issue. In my opinion this is better than the american government's response.

I believe the Dutch are not being screwed by their government, but simply by inadequate control on its intelligence agencies. The government can fix this.

I have liked a lot of things as thank-you or acknoledgement to the author. If I want to make something known, if I want to spread the word, I clicked the "share" button, that was its purpouse.

This has been one of my favourite wikipedia pages for a long time. It's a shame that it's so hard to search through.

The reason the standards don't speak of 2D euclidean geometry is because they (Very sensibly, IMO) left room for yet unknown devices that might not fit that description but still are able to conform.

Flies have an exoskeleton which, unlike the quadcopters of our engineers, have many flexible parts. This is much like the cage only in a very different configuration. I don't know about the wings in particular, but I can imagine they are more flexible than brittle and may even be capable of growing scar tissue.

Take a look at programmer's dvorak [1]. It treats numbers as second class citizens in favour of symbols. It comes pre-installed on some linux distros, but it won't solve your querty problem.

That's an interesting way of looking at "parasitic" programs. Maybe we could even get those parasites to work for us, like trapping them as the house pen-tester. You could employ the constant barrage of attempted ssh logins as remote connectivity check or something.

Because smells are not hardwired [1], we are nurtured into being distasteful of the scent of sweat. One nice example of this that I like is that you can find infants happily playing in faeces without being disgusted by it, it doesn't bother them the sligthest.

It seems to me that some might actually believe that WikiLeaks are not reporters, even after failing to formulate differences. And even if this is accepted, WikiLeaks can probably find a way to "pay" a reporter that needs protection.
