Hi @kungfuton. We just overhauled our listing process. You can create a listing in just minutes now - https://flippa.com/sell
Hopefully that takes some of the work out of it for you.

Shucks Jason ... now we're blushing! ;-) Happy to confirm all this. Great to hear you were able to find a qualified buyer.
Your comments on buyers needing to qualify themselves to get a response is right on. Professional buyers pitch themselves to sellers as much as the other way around.
I'm obviously biased but this sold list shows that we regularly sell awesome websites: http://bit.ly/JDV1hg
Try out our advanced search and you can very easily drill into sites that meet your quality definition: https://flippa.com/search
Sortfolio is listed for auction on Flippa - https://flippa.com/2739829-sortfolio-com-web-design-marketpl...
Opening bid is $250K. Buy It Now is $480K.
Listing includes traffic/revenue claims. Check out the site details page to see incredibly strong keyword ranking: https://flippa.com/auctions/2739829/due-diligence . No prize for guessing which language its written in! ;-))
Hi Bryanh. Interesting site. Drop a line to our support team if you do decide to sell on Flippa as we'd be happy to come to the party and cover your listing fee in this instance.
Hi guys. You can use the Flippa search tools quickly drill into different website facets (site age, traffic or revenue). Otherwise check out the advanced search options at https://flippa.com/search
We also allow tags which can help you find more application-oriented websites for sale. A few examples include https://flippa.com/buy/sitetype/application (where sellers have tagged the website as an application) or https://flippa.com/buy/implementation/ruby (where the sellers have tagged the implementation of the site as ruby).
If none of the open listings are what you are interested in, you can hit the Watch this Tag or Save this Search link and we'll let you know if any new sites that meet this criteria are put up for sale.
Hope that helps.
Hi William. Great to hear the booming Australian start-up scene getting some deserved dedicated coverage. I work for Flippa.com - worlds largest website marketplace (over $61M websites sold so far) and BRW Fast Starter + SmartCompany Innovation Award Winner. We're based in Melbourne so happy to shout lunch if you're ever in the area!
Hi. Belated response but the sellers enter the descriptions - the result set can be further tweaked to address it. Otherwise try browsing via "app" tags on sitetype: https://flippa.com/buy/sitetype/application
Hi. Can appreciate the breadth of listings on Flippa can seem difficult to navigate - it very much reflects the breadth of both buyers and sellers on the marketplace. However its worth trying out our recently enhanced search to uncover the sorts of projects you seem to be describing.
This is how it might look if you were just looking for apps that didn't harp on about "potential" but was at least 12 months old: https://flippa.com/buy/search?sort_col=relevance&sort_di...
You can use the facets to drill in further or otherwise hit the "Advanced" link beside REFINE to get really specific ...
Hope that helps.
Hi. As per @geekfactor, we do sell a considerable number of premium sites on Flippa. We work to attract more qualified high-end buyers to these listings via tools such as our weekly premium A-List newsletter (see https://flippa.com/a-list). These sites tend to sell from $10K through to over $300K. Hope that helps. Do not hesitate to let our support team know if you need any help with a specific listing.
As per some of the other comments, Flippa is likely able to get you a good buyer. If the website qualifies, it will likely be included in our A-List newsletter (see https://flippa.com/a-list) which will get it in front of premium buyers. Let us know if you need any assistance getting your auction running (though "code" makes some great point on this thread already!). We'd be happy to help.
Hi. I'm from Flippa. I've noticed you've listing the site as being a start-up site rather than established. Without debating the definitions of these, you may get more interest as an established site as you've been live for a number of months now. Let me know if you'd like us to change this for you.
We've also added $80 worth of credits to your account so that you can feature your listing during the private sale for more eyeballs.
Finally, we publish a weekly newsletter called the A-List that reviews premium listings in detail (see https://flippa.com/a-list). We'll look at nominating your listing for inclusion to ensure it gets visibility from our more premium buyers.
Some great responses here. I’m naturally biased but would strongly suggest you give Flippa a try if you’re looking for a swift and low friction sale. Appreciate you’re strapped so if you’re interested, set up an account and send it via dm @flippa on twitter or contact our support team and we’ll waive your listing/feature fees to get you rolling.
The question of how to value a website is always a tricky one. patio11 has really nailed it - especially in terms of how important demonstrated revenue is to your final sale price.
A few additional considerations based on our surveys of Flippa buyers: the niche that your community is about influences valuation on par with the amount of traffic you have. This is closely followed by the level of trust you establish (readily influenced by patio11's point on salesmanship).
Given the number of qualified buyers we have on Flippa, I'd be inclined to say that our auction process may be your best mechanism for establishing ultimate price for your property.
Either way, best of luck with your sale. Do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do to assist - more than happy to work with you on optimizing your auction if you do go down the Flippa path.
There have indeed been a number of webapp properties that have successfully sold on Flippa. An additional consideration to those raised by flipfilter is that the more serious of these buyers are going to want to see revenue and usage metrics (note that if the problems you mentioned about your venture are serious enough, it will impact your sale price). Let our support team know you came from HN if you go ahead and we'll do what we can to work with you on securing a successful sale...
Thanks amoore. Absolutely agree with adding as much information about your app/site as possible - especially that you were reviewed by CNET and Mashable. There are a few additional pointers available at https://flippa.com/help/sell Also be sure to add the webapp tag to your tweetsaver.com listing. In the spirit of the season, let us know once your Flippa account is set up and we'll send $10 worth of credits your way. Hope that helps - good luck!
Hear what you're saying. Flippa has a "webapps" tag for auctions that relate to sites like this. If sellers apply the tag, there should be significantly less wading (ie it will appear in https://flippa.com/tags/sitetype). Hope that helps.
Hi there. Sorry to hear it is not working out for you. Full points for giving it a serious go. As some of the other responses have already said, Flippa is the number one marketplace for getting OrangeSlyce.com in front of the most qualified website buyers. Having existing revenue will help in getting buyer attention. Just make sure you have a reserve price that you are happy to sell at. Let us know if you go ahead and we'll send a few credits your way to get you rolling.
Great to hear you had successful sales on Flippa. Interesting theory on scammers. Be assured that we do a lot of work to identify and remove duplicate accounts to block this happening as well as stop shill bidding. Coordinated users could arguably still trade sites between themselves but this would be an expensive exercise for the sites over $5K. Finally, not sure how much value buyers put on a previous sale price is given the rapidly changing nature of the website in the right (or wrong!) hands ..
