I think it's clear. Tires. Tires are what's killing everyone. Or at least contributing more than we'd like to admit. Rise in cancer among young people, microplastics in the ocean, among a litany of other health issues on the rise. A hundred years of tire wear and industry is making itself known.

True. Seems like now would be his moment to take center stage (literally at WWDC in about a week). His title is "Senior Vice President Machine Learning and AI Strategy". We've seen Ternus present. Srouji too. Sure would instill some confidence to hear directly from the AI Strategy SVP on what they've been working on and what they have planned. Turning Siri over to OpenAI sounds like a defeat for him.

You have to wonder if Giannandrea is what's been holding Siri back all these years. What can you point to that he's significantly improved at Apple since coming from Google in 2018? And now he's luke-warm on LLMs? Seems like someone we should be seeing present Apple's AI strategy at this year's WWDC keynote, no?

The problem is that most Americans view cars as status symbols and want them to be as luxurious as if they're buying a second home. Ironically according to AAA the average American spends about 300hrs a year behind the wheel. In other words about 3.5% of your time is spent actually driving while 96.5% it's garaged or parked. Spend money on a better a bed where you spend 33% of your life and buy a used 2009-2019 Toyota Yaris, agreed to be one of the most reliable commuter cars Toyota has ever made.

I think hybrids are the ideal car that addresses the current reality and infrastructure as it is at this moment in time. Most trips can be driven electric only, while also having the ICE to address those edge cases and long trips while at the same time removing range anxiety.

I don't think this really competes with a phone. If anything it competes with a smartwatch. And as far as wearable tech, a watch blends in much better.

The OpenAI Keynote 3 years ago

Perhaps Microsoft could get back into cell phone space with a phone built from the ground up with an OpenAI OS of sorts. A phone designed with OpenAI in mind first.

There is an adblocker for Youtube. It's called Youtube Premium for $13.99 a month. Youtube is a business pure and simple. You either pay with your attention/time (ads) or cash money. I think its hard for people to realize they are like any other streaming service like Netflix, Disney+ or Hulu.

You're right! Interesting. My original comment about odds wasn't a serious request to make a bet, just hyperbole. It does seem given her high profile if she did flee, she'd be right on the FBI top-10 most wanted list.
