It’s not my plans. He’s actively asking me to build robots and to code. School has given him some Minecraft coding games but he’s maxed them out or just bored with them. I’m just trying to foster his interest.

This is great thanks. He’s into lego and I was thinking about the technic/advanced sets but I’m definitely going to explore this. Looks to be a few in my area too.

Integrate it with ghost. There aren’t many options for us building communities on Ghost for commenting. Cove.chat but the experience is less than premium IMO.

Yep this right here. I tried to start a niche room for my podcast listeners but had to jump through too many hoops.

I think they can pivot into something useful but in its current form it doesnt’ have much value for me for all the reasons you’ve stated.

Go to the Tokyo Fish Market if you really want your eyes opened. 1500 tons of fish brought in every day. They just scoop up everything they can get their nets on and sell it at the market. Truly eye-opening experience.

There is some good advice in this thread. In the end, just start writing good content which it sounds like you've already started having 20 Google docs. Your post gave me motivation to finish a post I had started on this topic and I hope it provides some value to you. I do disagree with the above comments regarding /blog/ having an impact on ranking, click-depth matters more than URL structure.

Also, the guy who said it doesnt matter you need to do direct marketing, he's not wrong but it all plays into the SEO performance of your content. Write good content, promote it and you'll see the benefits. Write and do nothing and you may or may not find some success.

Don’t give your kid unfettered access to YT. A video here and there is fine but the stuff that comes up even on YT kids if you just let them click around is toxic and creepy.

His channel is awful. The parents alone are cringe worthy. Our boys don’t get to watch him anymore.

For sure. I've come to the conclusion that most people are just too closed minded to hear anything that does not align with their side. It is a particularly good mindset to adapt right around election years.

2. Being right is overrated.

So true. Something I took a long time to learn. Everyone's perspective is different so be more empathetic to it and maybe you'll find you're not right after all.

Less is more.

- You don't need that neat kitchen gadget when a knife will do just fine.

- A small number of close friends > a lot of acquaintances. As you get older and priorities change, maintaining those friendships becomes harder, closer friends will understand and help maintain that connection.

- Eat less

- Starting fewer projects at once helps get more projects done.

- Less distractions. Give yourself more time to think to formulate your thoughts w/o influence or corruption.

An exception is more travel. You'll look back and never regret a travel experience.

This is fantastic. I had a similar idea but it was for a friend of mine. She constantly made the wrong choices in life and I'm positive things would turn out better if she crowdsourced all of her decision makings.

Umano was a great app that was similar to this. In some unexplained moved, Dropbox bought it and shut them down. It used real people to read the articles but it was definitely worth paying for.

Ditto on the sitebulb love. It's a well-done product and a welcome challenger to the status-quo of SEO software out there.

I will say the cost gives me hesitation but you've put a lot of work into it so I understand the justification.

For the visualization, does the crawl map limit the connections? I was expecting to see more of a web with pages linked from the entire site. Can you tell us more about that?

I don't understand how this is considered an autopsy, what was he selling? what was his conversion rate? what was customer acquisition? what was retention?

Paid high salaries and burned through investment without closing sales? That's probably a little more indicative of why this one failed.
