Encouraging people to meet up in everyday life and gathering them just to talk is where I’d simply start.

In that spirit I have created and deployed a vibe coded app: come have dinner.com (not the real website).

A simple website we share with my SO to our loved ones, friends, co workers and more. People can register to come have dinner at ours, with an attendance they don’t know.

The website has an admin interface with a simple password, some good jokes, email reminders and calendar invitations.

Should I open source it?

Sorry for the support query here - but I’m blocked in a bus and am HOOKED.

At the moment the prompt just loops for a second and then produces no answer :(

Quick note: it’s hard to pull down the prompt panel down, and makes for a frustrating UX (just there)

I’ve just tested it out, and purchased a subscription within 5 minutes, for an app we were seriously discussing with a friend over the last days.

We thought long and hard of creating an SDK but did not go that route for now. Our main problem is that if you have to support Windows machines you're putting the finger into something really complicated.

And then depend on the end user's specs, etc.

So I'm really curious, in your case are you planning on deploying to Apple machines (m1+)? Or also set it up on Windows machines?

We were talking about that approach today with a friend who unifies parking apps across the country. He calls his engine UMM—Ultimate Macro Machine.

I’m working in the “classic” generic browser-automation agents with a unified API for meeting bots (transcription, voice input, etc.).

I really like you retrofit analogy - not sure if you coined it or geohot has.

It seems to me that's where a ton of start-ups are currently converging - not repairing the old, which would be too complicated, but understanding and "mending" for new usages, or functionalities.

I'm not as much surprised by the capabilities of new model (IMHO same as GPT-4) as by it's real time capabilities.

My brother who can't see correctly, will use this to cook a meal without me explaining this to him it's so cool.

People all around the world will now get real-time AI assistance for a ton of queries.

Heck - I have a meeting bot API company (https://aimeetingbot.com) and that makes me really hyped!

I have a ton of databases on Notion (with all my teams conversation transcripts, meeting to-dos, etc.) and global AI search just isn't there.

I haven't found a way there (but have elsewhere using open source) to create a kick-ass search.

This is where having our own LLMs and stacks running locally will save and empower us IMHO

I'm currently looking to implement RAG locally, using QDrant [1] for instance.

I've created an AI Meeting Bot API to do just that [1].

At the moment it runs on AWS, and we're thinking of open-sourcing so you could also run it locally to maintain 100% privacy of such conversations.

You'd get speaker diarization, names on top of the recording [2].

I'm actually the founder of an AI Meeting Bot company - and we're thinking of open-sourcing so you could run exactly this set-up locally with perfect diarization / recording while also maintaining privacy [1].

I'm obsessed with having a clean desktop, and beautiful wallpapers. Until recently, I used a neat little app for MacOS called Artdiario [1] that would update my wallpaper every day with a beautiful piece of art and I LOVED it.

"Used to" because it looks it's not updated anymore since around 2 months :(

Was thinking of re-creating the same "open-source" version of it, that would pick and show art from museums around the world every day [2].

Would some of you be interested?

yes I've definitely thought quite a few times about open-sourcing our company code (AI note-taker for remote meetings). But then the hard thing is Kubernetes on top...

And as always not sure our "closed-source", "employee only" code would be useful to anyone not working with us :/

ok I'm biased because I work in exactly this sector: automated meeting minutes make life easier and are powered by LLMs.

US employees spend 18 hours / week in meetings so that is a noticeable improvement IMHO.

My initial idea before reading your comment (probably hard too implement) - take around the "most replayed segment" if there is one.
