What does the number of buzzwords and frameworks on a resume matter? Engineering is so much more than that it’s not even worth mentioning. You’re comparison is on the easiest aspect of what we do.

Unless you’re a web dev. Then youre right and will be replaced soon enough. Guess why.

18 hours is a pretty stupid selling point IMO. You either need something immediately or you can wait. Rarely do I need anything 18 hours from now.

Stupid or not, hard to argue with Amazon's income sheet. Obviously most people disagree. I don't disagree fwiw.

Well that's a lot of hyperbole, but who cares? So the incumbents suck; at least they're relatively predictable. Them being bad doesn't make the Pirate party good.

Ok, but I'd like to also have _some_ idea of what I'mn voting for aside from being able to download movies for free and doing away with patents (also ridiculous on its face). I agree with you, but that doesn't make these jokers any more attractive.

So... you want to get into office based solely on media copyright issues and literally every other issue is "elect us and we'll figure it out!". Very hard to take seriously, good luck.

And yes, your name is silly. You should change it; messaging matters and you start with your left foot forward.

I'm now remembering how frustrating was for me to take school related things too seriously and discover you cared more than your teachers when I was her age.

Perhaps it's you taking this children's assignment too seriously. Was the goal really to find who could grow the best sodium crystal, or was it to teach them how to manage a small project and learn a bit of chemistry? Did your daughter learn anything about those things?

That teacher has a bunch of other kids to educate. Maybe they don't care, or maybe you just have your priorities screwed up a bit.

It is cool.

We're all adults and can make our own choices. Few things in life are free of risk (you drive a car I imagine). If I want to do a damn stunt I'll do it. Should we also ban most sports? Those are dangerous too. How about we stop building tall buildings? Lots of construction accidents there.

Also, the kind of accident that happened recently on set is vanishingly rare. There are a ton of safguards in place to ensure things like that don't happen and, in this case, at least one person was severely negligent.

Yeah Musk isn't exactly Rico Suave, but Zuckerberg is downright revolting to most people. He's robotic and comes off as an alien playing a human.

Yeah but his "true self" isn't exactly something 99.99% of people enjoy. He's a robotic tool. Looks to me like he signed up for a "how to appear more human 101" course and now gesticulates with his hands non-stop.

Even those things you have decided provide marginal value employ people, and you never know where innovation will come from. Crypto is comparable to a ponzi scheme and is an asset with almost no real value, trading only on the greater fool theory.

Forget the article; the Fed is currently targeting a rate of 0.00-0.25 as far as I'm aware. That's the same as 2008, which was the lowest target ever.

As of 30 October 2019 the target range for the Federal Funds Rate is 1.50–1.75%.[10] This reduction represented the third of the current sequence of rate decreases: the first occurred in July 2019. As of March 15, 2020 the target range for Federal Funds Rate is 0.00–0.25%,[11] a full percentage point drop less than two weeks after being lowered to 1.00–1.25%.[12]

The last full cycle of rate increases occurred between June 2004 and June 2006 as rates steadily rose from 1.00% to 5.25%. The target rate remained at 5.25% for over a year, until the Federal Reserve began lowering rates in September 2007. The last cycle of easing monetary policy through the rate was conducted from September 2007 to December 2008 as the target rate fell from 5.25% to a range of 0.00–0.25%. Between December 2008 and December 2015 the target rate remained at 0.00–0.25%, the lowest rate in the Federal Reserve's history, as a reaction to the Financial crisis of 2007–2008 and its aftermath

Also, everything being equal, lower rates will _always_ increase demand.

Yet, how does the fed fight inflation? By raising rates, i.e., home prices will be dropping. By how much, no idea, but sure reeks of bubble territory.

Of course the loan itself is worth less to the bank during inflationary times. You make more money, your payment stays the same, and real estate prices will rise somewhat, but it's not as simple as you make it seem. I'd be worried if I were planning to sell within the next few years.

What's the connection between RH, Citadel, and Doge? Yes, it happened during GME, but they had a vested interest as GME short sellers and no actual connection between them and reddit downtime was ever established.

Now we're talking about crypto and making the same assumptions. It's no different than all of the kids on reddit with 2 months experience in the market who now believe they can spot a short squeeze coming.

It's nonsense, just people who see something happen once and continue to make nonsense assumptions. "Last time there was en eclipse my power went out, therefore the eclipse caused it"
