No, not all start as light novels. In many cases the light novels come afterwards as a way to capitalise (eg Demon Slayer, the manga finished a while ago, so while the anime is still running light novels are coming out).

Apothecary Diaries started as a light novel, but JJK, AoT and many others start as Manga

But did you really scan the items they wanted? Most people in my local community scan their hands or the pavements around the pokestop. They have a great map of London pavements if they want to do it.

The problem is the length in men's trousers which doesn't fit shorter women. But yes, I have 'mens' hoodies and other items which tend to have great big pockets...

And this isn't limited to jeans. If you take an average hiking coat men's ones also have more and better pockets to women's. And we do not take handbags on hikes.

We have a rule of no phones at the table. Unless it is for a purpose - while in the middle of conversation if there is a question we can't answer we will check the phone. ("what does a giraffe sound like?" "what does the gallbladder do?")

Otherwise, yes I will use my phone while the children are in the park in the sandpit or playing around. If I was helicoptering over them all the time, they wouldn't explore the climbing frames alone - and i do keep an eye in case they fall but want them to have the confidence to do it alone

and they see how the phone can be useful - want an expensive toy in the shop? let's check the phone and see if we can find it cheaper... - are we lost? let's learn to use a map... - how do you say x or y in a foreign language?

I have a nearly 5yo and a nearly 2yo and i have to admit it has been tough, but we have managed without time outs and punishments and spankings

I grew up afraid of "the slipper" and "the wooden spoon" and don't have a good relationship with my parents and do not want that to my children

we practise time in, instead of time out when you leave the child by themselves and they don't have the maturity to realise what they have done wrong, we remove them from the situation and sit with them and explain what the issue was after they have calmed down - as talking to them mid-tantrum will not have any effect as they won't be able to process anything we say

Back in the day (2000) I worked in a branch of Books, etc. A chain, mostly London based, with some airport branches, soon before their takeover by Borders.

When I started working there it worked like the current waterstones in a way, as we, at branch level, saw the publisher's reps and chose the stock for our branch. Only the big 3 for 2 promos came from head office... Then it all changed and we were left with stock that wouldn't shift - 20 copies of a Bjork book in a small branch in the City is an example I remember...

Then Borders took over thinking selling books is the same as selling baked beans. By then I was working in the head office getting more and more disillusioned... Honestly, I'm not surprised Borders went down as it tried to follow the B&N system of huge branches in out of town locations...

Even though sometimes you look like a tpurise (on the London underground for example), in the London Overground you do need to press the button or your specific door will not open...

I think knowing which buttons are placebo, and which work does give you a happy sense of smugness similar to knowing exactly the door to get in and off the train when you need it.

We don't have to go back to 1750 as they mention in the article... In 2000 earning much less CDs cost over £15 and I am still surprised to find price tags on old things like that...
