That doesn't make sense. Huggingface is a 'popular' tech company. Maybe those 'nerds' just didn't have tickets

For the San Francisco venues, some of my favorite artists come on random days, and as a 40-something with a kid I would only go out on nights other than Friday/Saturday if I REALLY liked the artist. From this perspective, it might make sense to weight weekday outliers higher
IDK, if you look at what Microsoft has accomplished under the leadership of Satya over the last 9 years it's obviously possible to innovate and bean count at the same time
I use the iOS Speech Accessibility feature to listen to ebooks and it works great.
Learn GPT is brilliant. Thank you for this.
From the opposite side I've regularly presented in board meetings at 3 small to medium sized startups and this has not been my experience as well. One CEO was even removed at one of them.
I think being able to make people laugh in as few words as possible is a skill, and one that's very difficult to master. It's like poetry, constraints require creativity. Creepy wet uncle, to me at least, isn't very funny, but it was likely funny at the time because of the context. Unexpected things can be funny, and it's a common way to form a joke, but coming up with novel ideas that lots of people find funny isn't an easy thing to do for most people. If it was, we probably wouldn't find it that funny.
FWIW, I think this is what has made Twitter so popular. The original 140 character limit with out the ability to do tweet threads in the form we have now put a lot of constraints on people. Being thoughtful or funny in 140 characters is difficult, but a lot of folks came up with some pretty amazing insights and quips.
I’m a parent of a child at the Oakland school. I believe the DC school is unaffiliated. I’ve heard it’s common for parents to take their kids out because they decide being taught in multiple languages where the main language is their child’s second language isn’t working for their child.
What would the application be?
Do you have a blog post or some link to info about your experiments?
What email service are you using?
Yeah. I read that they went over budget and had to rewrite the last couple episodes to finish our season 6. It was good but felt more rushed and incomplete.
I was also really excited about The Wheel of Time series that came out on Prime (especially since Sanderson was consulting on it), but it really disapointed for the same reasons. The Expanse was spot on though. I hope someone picks the show back up so they can finish out the series.
The follow up to Children of Time, Children of Ruin, is also fantastic and a third book is slated to come out this year!
Same! It was excellent.
I couldn't get into it. They changed some of the characters and beginning plot and I hate when hollywood does that.
I'm on book 4 of the Bobiverse series and am really enjoying it, easy reads started the series last week! Read Blake Crouch's latest Upgrade over a weekend and would reccomend as well.
Residential real estate represents 5% of the GDP (in the US), 25% of an individuals wealth, and 65% of the homes are owner occupied. A 20% tax even if only for property deemed underdeveloped would bankrupt a ton of people (myself included) and throw the entire market into chaos. Most people who were hit with this wouldn't be able to redevelop because of the expense, so they would be forced to sell. The market would get flooded and drive down the value. Investors would snatch everything up, redevelop, and start driving up rental prices. We need change but this would be horrible in so many ways.
I think the point is that actual diagonoses are often wrong and potentially harmful, which I agree with. I share a bit of your story, getting diagonised with ADHD benefited me greatly and led me down a path that likely saved my life. At the same time, while many people are helped by the medical system many others aren't and psych drugs are an area where there is a lot of finger waving in how drugs are perscribed.
It just comes down to who the board allows to sell stock and at what time. Most option contracts don’t allow sale of stock to secondary markets without approval and rank and file employees have much more restricted stock. Often founders and key executives will also get some liquidity and stock top up during funding rounds while no one else at the company has that option. By the time a company goes public most founders and key execs have already made quite a bit of money on the side.
If you went to college 20 years (or more) ago, things have changed a bit. Everything is more expensive and income hasn't risen to catch up. https://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/paying-for-co...

Closing with people on the other side aren't going to agree with me makes me think this person likes stirring the pot and getting attention, which is one of the things called out as dangerous in their argument. FWIW, I think lots of people self diagnose for attention and I absolutely agree that mental health shouldn't be something we laud (we should normalize it though) even though the author would almost definitely group me with the leftists.
Intended to make this to start blogging... didn't happen but still had some fun making the site
Definitely not an acquihire. Linode build a super solid business without taking any venture.
It also has some world class universities, fantastic weather, and is surrounded by beautiful nature
