You can certainly rationalize anything, but I fail to see what help that is to us.

Let me reframe it. Among these trillions of people, there will be many who are 99% similar to you. Wouldn't you want that version of yourself to live a great life?

This is how I look at this issue. I am a layman.

Question of intelligence is more or less irrelevant in LLM. All we need is something that can mimic an average human. I would say we have arrived at such point.

How many people have truly new ideas? So from my perspective we achieved AGI.
