I have it at my cabin, and get anywhere between 100-200mb/s down and 10-20mb/s up.
I’m in a discounted area and “only” pay $90 per month, so that probably has something to do with the speeds.
I’m also fairly close to the downlink site - not sure if that has any effect.
There are no other non-satellite options available.
This is what I do for a customer that I've had a long relationship with.
For $X00 per month, they get business hours on-call access and up to 10 hours of actual support work. I think the retainer/hours thing is a lot more palatable.
I offered 24x7, but having done it many times over the years, my price for it was about 3x the business hours support price, and the company was b2b, so it was mostly business hours anyways, so it wasn't a big deal.
The cost (to me) of always having to carry a laptop around, always be in cell range, always be mostly sober, always have my phone ringer turned on, etc. requires significant compensation, and for me, $1000 per month is nowhere near enough to deal with that.
You've been doing it for a few months, so you have an idea of how disruptive it is, and having done it for free, the thought of $1000 for doing the same thing may sound nice now, but be sure to extrapolate it out another 6 months or so of being tethered 24x7 to work, and price it based on how you're going to feel then, not now.

I should have been more explicit. The ads redirect to a new page and continue to redirect when you hit the back button, making reading the site impossible unless you manage to tap “reader mode” in the ~1s before the ads kick in.

Yes, I suspect the dropping of the Volt is more about no longer having a platform to build that specific model on.

When I had upgraded service run to my 1923 house, I ran 200 amps to the detached garage and 200 amps to the house. The extra cost vs a smaller service is marginal.

If you’re not sure of the “why” of react, I’ve found that Pete Hunt’s talk “Rethinking Best Practices” gives a great overview of the reasoning behind react. Especially from about 15:15.
If you're interested in a quad loaded with open source software right out of the box, take a look at the Sky Viper v2450 GPS. It runs about $150.
It runs full ardupilot code, has a ublox gps chip, a taoglas gps antenna, and the video board and transmitter software is open source.
It runs a tiny webserver that allows you to configure any of the ardupilot variables, and is compatible with most of the ardupilot ground control software.

The e28 M5 is more comparable to a 1 series now.
The e28 has a shorter wheelbase than the 1 series sedan (but is longer overall due to its stylish 80's big overhangs...) It is also narrower than the 1 series.
The patent and the royalty on Honeycrisp expired in 2008.
