Actually plain html is what IS safe.

It is javascript that allows corporate interests to pop up and nag screen you, and otherwise control your web browsing experience to their favor.

I have an app in my browser that allows me to toggle off javascript and vanquish most pop ups and nag screens.

This just adds fuel to the fire favoring police location apps, where users who spot police vehicles, in this case DPS vehicles post on their app and all app users receive notifications, so anybody nearby can turn off their cellphones - - or, "clam them up" in a ball of 50 layers of aluminum foil slit on the side. Of course, police will merely start placing hardware in inconspicuous vehicles then. What if there was a way to massively FLOOD these devices with spurious data though?

Curious what is the latest on genetic improvement of banana against Panama disease ?

I can see Trump issuing an emergency executive order on the eve of mid term voting commanding all of ICE, Homeland, FBI, and anyone else available under his wing being assigned to poll stations throughout the US to monitor elections, if not directly check i.d.'s and verify citizenship. Paddy wagons parked outside. Any local officials who get in the way (interfere) with Federals doing their job are arrested on the spot. No doubt demonstrators appear and tear gas flows freely.

Maybe he even declares "martial law" for 48 hours "to insure fair elections" so that liberal leaning courts are shut out, injunctions are ignored. Who would enforce an injunction in any case ? Certainly not the Feds under Trump.

Perfect storm. If Trump cannot get his Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act passed in time, merely a day before voting he declares national emergency - issues executive order, all gun carrying ICE agents instantly transform to voter i.d. agents at every poll station in America. Planned so no time for any court to issue injunction (or other means of delaying 1st level judiciary)? All people without proper valid i.d. don't get to vote, get turned away.

Interfere and you get ARRESTED, paddy wagon on site.

Done Deal.

Who matters more ?

Western carmakers, a minority ?

Or Western voters-drivers, by far, a vast majority ?

BYD's offer a warrantee almost twice that of the Rivian R2 I ordered, a bit cheaper pricetag too.

Seems there should be a way to disable that internet function which transits all data back to Chinese servers (or local Gov't require that all data be run through local servers and stop there).

Or, any Western companies that allow BYD to market inside their countries should require a huge "bonding" bought through a Western company to guarantee purchasers against losses in case BYD folds for any reason in that country. Also should require substantial warrantee / service centers inside that country.

It's well known that car dealers across the USA earn most of their $ by financing and by service, not by cash paying customers who buy cars and never return to the dealer for service.

I fully expect that "short" 50K mileage warrantee on my Rivian is their strategy, so that once it expires, I am on the hook for some very expensive service trips .. that is how they will make up for the lower sales price out the door.

Many years ago I was once fooled too on a 15 min bar strategy trading the S&P Futs with Trade Station software, no real money traded on it, but the strategy backtested very well on 4 years of historical data. If you adjust parameters and then keep backtesting it better and better it's all just “curve fitting”.

Now my own human trading is successful scalping the NQ futs.

Is it true there is a contract out on this guy ?

These plantiffs will have to come to my states courts to certify any judgement. Who of those whom live in other states are going to Calif law to dictate their lives ? I will write my state politicians to sponsor a bill to quash this behavior, make these actions null and void in our courts.
