Google is an advertising company. The rest of their products suck.
Of course everyone is lying. It's the law: you can't divulge this info, you must lie.
Such naivety.
Why the snark troll?
Someone or something is claiming copyright to the content. Period.
"Don't read too much into it" is a smokescreen. They are claiming copyright, are you trying to change the facts?
It's ironic that Snowden has no fear in blabbing about Top Secret information, and no fear in claiming the moral high ground, but is fearful and scared of getting apprehended at this point in time.
Sounds like his so-called fearlessness has worn off? Nah, he's just a troublemaker who is now on the run.
Congrats, you are not a lawyer! Thanks for the info!
My advice for an an aspiring 20 yr old jumpstart his career?
Work pays the bills, so for now do what you can... but then at night, work on what you enjoy or want to learn (like coding).
Once you have a portfolio of work and code to share, you can apply for jobs and reference your past work.
It's called stalking.
Anytime someone uses the word "Creeper" it quickly identifies the person as a Millenial. It sounds passive-aggressive.
The word is "Stalker" kids. A creeper is someone who creeps around at night.
It's a symptom of not really understanding the web or the browser.
Javascript is not required to read articles on the web. It's optional. That's why "Reader" mode is so handy, just show me the article so I can read it. Sometimes I don't like waiting for my browser to struggle with poorly written JS.
It sounds like a classic noobie mistake... "Why are users able to turn off Javascript?" "No idea." "Remove the feature!"
If anyone says Javascript is not optional, they are trying to sell you something: probably web apps!
The guy is doing it for fun. None of your arguments or concerns are applicable.

I'm looking forward to tiny nanotech robots that can be deployed on search and destroy missions.
There are some apps that are Mac only. Also you get access to the App Store with great Mac software.
Also it's got a good shell, etc. As far as I know, OSX is only licensed to run on Macs.
I go with OS choices.
With a Macbook and bootcamp, you can run OSX and Windows 7.
If I can't run OSX, that's a big problem.
I guess the question is: should governments have the same access as "social media platform sysops"?
I would be surprised if they didn't.
You are outraged, check.
Answer: Reports on surveillance of Americans fuel debate over privacy, security.
DURR!
Lots of drama about this! I guess that goes along with being high profile.
Wanting to stay connected and communicate with other humans is not a disorder, it's actually quite healthy!
I think it is fascinating that people feel compelled to visit Facebook or any website, and don't know why. It's like calling someone every morning: you want to communicate. If you stop doing that suddenly, you'll miss it.
Calling it an 'addiction' or 'some strange social force' or other conspiracy ideas are interesting, but flawed arguments.
Works great for me for all purposes required. I don't have any specific needs in this area, so it's a fun website for when I want a diversion. None of the author's complaints make sense to me, except yes, I do notice advertising.
The original post author seems to have specific interests and needs that are not being fulfilled? That sounds like a personal problem. My suggestion would be to move to another social media platform that better fits his needs.
But, in reality, I think the author's problem is PEBKAC. If he doesn't like the website, he should make one that he does like. Nobody is stopping him.

I think the correct sentiment: if you're relying on an advertising company like Google, you're going nowhere fast.
Safari for most needs, with Chrome as a great secondary browser. IE and Firefox for testing.
I've always called it SQL since old school days, and still do.
I would call it Speedy as well, not EsPeeDeeWhy, that's another given.
I always thought cars close to or over 100K were considered Exotics, but then I recalled that most big SUVs are around that price point.
Why would you ever click on an e-mail link?
No wonder! I was wondering what the problem was, and it appears to be PEBKAC.
I think it is hilarious that people still click on links in e-mails.
Just go to the website directly via a URL. Don't ever click on links in e-mails. Once you learn this, you're much safer.
