Since forts are included in the USA, there are loads of Napoleonic forts missing in the UK.

Plymouth is surrounded by them.

What are we, the powerless people, supposed to do with that as we watch super yachts, private jets, and armies bomb oil storage and gas pipelines?

My office, with the window open, surrounded by trees and in the countryside, and the nearest large town being 20 miles away, shows 422ppm CO2 pretty consistently.

My oldest granddaughter found copilot on her laptop she uses for homework, and asked it "what are you" and it responded that it was her friend.

I really wish these tools, when asked what/who they are, would respond that they are just tools.

I'm in the south UK, live off grid, and have a bunch of solar panels, none of them are flat aside from the 640w of panels on my van, which generate almost nothing during the Winter.

Panels on the sides ot trains might be a better solution.

And no one can be sure about the cosmos :-p

Back in the day, 2020, the effort to create a program/website/service was the prohibiting factor, which meant the sediment remained at the bottom of the barrel where it belonged.

What is singel player vs computer/bot experience?

I'd love to wile away some time on a single player, short adventure/mission, game from time to time. I have enjoyed lots of fun times with game like cmomand and conquer in the past so something like that wouldf be amazing.

I am forced to use jira soon as I was using BB issues and that is expiring soon.

So I'll build something simple for us, that integrates with our systems and how we like to do things.

It won't cost us much since our meagre requirements are nothing comparted to a full fledged Jira replacement.

Without LLMs it would have taken maybe a couple of days effort and perhaps an hour a month to fix any bugs we miss or add an extra overlooked feature.

With LLMs ... we shall see.

We won't set out to solve all of the world's issue tracking problems, so that will save a lot of time.

Probably an unpopular view, but why not fix the issues with social media.

A ban is a good idea, but not by eroding the privacy of every adult, for all of the reasons stated elsewhere.

I think most people agree that social media is toxic, not just for children, but adults too.

What I don't understand is why parents don't take responsibility for reducing the contact with such harmful products.

Even growing up in the 70's, most children didn't smoke or drink alcohol, not because they didn't have access to it, but because of the wrath of their parents.
