I had basically the same experience updating cornify.com to the new social plug-ins. Documentation is incomplete, the Facepile doesn't work at all, and using an older Facebook Connect library at the same time breaks everything.

This has been my experience for a long time now. Even when talking to big clients at work, we're simply not encouraging integration with the Facebook APIs since we can't be sure what's going to happen.

Another thing that is a big downer is that the plug-ins can't be skinned. This may be good to keep the brand visible and establish a minimum level of design quality, but for agencies it doesn't work since it's impossible to create something dead-sexy.

I think people are so excited about the upcoming rainbows that they forget about all bad things. Searching Twitter for rainbow just brought up a ton of results from people in New York going "Awwww" and "dancing under the rainbow"... quod erat demonstrandum?

It's all good. Please keep in mind that Hapylink is not a url-shortener, but a url-happifier. Like you say, url-shortening is over crowded, so Hapylink focuses on more of a niche audience of users with unhappy links.

Thanks for the detailed suggestions, those are all good points. An api-type feature, like you are suggesting, is on the way, and the other suggestions are now on the list.

Happiness all the way!

Amazing, glad to hear that the upper east side has been cornified thoroughly.

What type of statistics are you looking for? Or better, what type of insights would you like?

Sorry to disappoint you. We're focusing on "less is more" and after long debates we decided that frolicing was something our users could live without. We take your feedback serious and if there is more user request, we will certainly be open to a later implementation.
