Hey thanks. Not that I could afford even the "cheap" one, but that's less than I expected. I'm watching some videos of it and, at the very least, it's a beautiful machine.

Didn't even know there was such a thing... Knowing Leica cameras, I'm afraid to ask about the price. Well, like they say: if you have to ask... :)

In my case the reason is to exercise. I really like it as an exercise. Though I also practice the other strokes for more variety, and fun, when I'm short of time butterfly is my choice.

Seems like it. I regularly see photos of people's gaming setups/battlestations and hobby rooms, and it's not rare to see posters of cars.

Though it's more common to see smaller framed art, and model cars.

I've always thought than on Reddit (or Digg, or Lemmy or others) common words, brands, names... should be broad "topics" or categories that nobody can claim (first come, first served). You should be able to add a sub/community under a topic, but just like everyone else, and then users interested in said topic could add and exclude different subs to taste.

What is a "Sony g shock" if you don't mind? I know Casio's G-Shock and Sony's Sports series... did you mix them by chance as I suppose or is there a Sony range I'm not aware of?

Same. I have 4 browsers, 2 of them loaded to the teeth and the other 2 untouched since installation, one of them the one that I use for "mandatory" stuff or that you really need it to work, like banking or gov sites.

Love this. I once (2017 I think) made a card game based around MS-DOS with elements of Crazy Eights which I called Crazy DOS (shortened C:DOS) but got zero attention so I moved on. I might try this one, I love this kind of stuff.

UT2003 was the first online multiplayer game I ever played, and I played it a lot, mostly at the office with coworkers; we then moved to UT2004. So, so many fond memories of both. Glad is back.

Not that it'll happen, or at least I haven't heard of it, but I'd love for MiniDiscs to also make a comeback (not that they ever were that popular), and see new releases in that format. It's my favorite one, a nice blend of CDs and compact cassettes (no worries about scratches thanks to the protective shell, even when you carelessly throw the discs in your pockets).

Sorry for the tangential, but as a non-native English speaker, and still learning... this really caught my attention: "grows smaller". It looks like a kind of contradiction. Is it common to use that instead of, say, "shrink"?

Among others (e.g.: "trans fatty acid"), in this particular case either "today's featured article" or "the f**ing article". I guess the latter.

This along blows my mind: I picture this bin bang and everything expanding from that point and... that everything is now a sphere. In my mind. But it isn't? Yes, I know next to nothing but love thinking about all of this.

Count me in. Most times it didn't matter to me but there were some cases when I wanted or needed them to have a specific style matching other elements and, yes, I could only do it -to the best I knew- with JS.

Nor mine. I mostly sub to small niche topics and there's hardly anything political. Large subs on the other hand...

Younger. As someone who never could afford a computer as a kid or teen, and not much people around me had one either, while I felt really really attracted to them and to tech in general there was nothing I could do abut it. Other than dreaming about getting one some day.

So now that I can have a few of them, every time I get one I feel like a kid.

Not that I buy them by the dozens or I'm becoming a collector, that's something I can't do nor want to do, but getting something new (old, but new to me) once a year or every couple allows me to discover all that I missed. Since I'm not "re"discovering it, it's all new to me in a sense.

It'd be nice if, at the very least, they were asked to be upfront and put a "sponsored" disclaimer on titles so we could make an informed choice.

I don't know what it takes at the scale of something like Wikipedia, but at my own scale, a single/self-employed developer, yes, hosting costs are a small part, but then I have to eat, a place to live, replace hardware, pay bills and taxes and much much more, things none of my sites could exist without.

Hosting is nothing without coders and maintainers, regardless of if the main content is contributed free, and decent coders and maintainers, software and hardware engineers, aren't cheap and don't count as hosting costs.

No worries. And in fact, sorry if I came out as nitpicky. Not that kind of person usually, but being his fan even before he became internet-famous I felt some urge, strange as it sounds.

I've been on Reddit for like 14 years now and politics have never affected me. At all. I stick to subs related to my interests like mechanical keyboards, retro computers, engineering, architecture... and hardly ever I see political stuff. But I don't remember when was the last time I browsed "All" or "Popular", or kept subbed to the large or "default" subs, which, I think, is where you'll find more political stuff. What I mean is that the best thing of Reddit is that you can -still- make of it whatever you want.

But you can be banned from sub A if you post in sub B because mods from sub A don't like sub B, even if what you posted was something that mods from sub A would like... and AFAIK you won't find out you were banned from sub A until you try to post on sub A. Not that it happened to me, but I've seen plenty of cases.
