HN is basically just reddit with slightly more dissent with the prevailing bias to be found in the [flagged] [dead] section. When the hivemind encounters data that causes cognitive dissonance it downvotes and flags it.

I mean does it mean it's accurate information? Could be a repurposed copy of some other document. Maybe they wanted it to be written by DV-3 and it didn't pan out, but they continued using the draft document anyway.
I know from personal experience that I've had draft documents that were WILDLY wrong before I published to anyone but myself. Whole sections I just went back and completely deleted. In fact my senior project paper (LaTeX) in college had a whole section with big ASCII bull taking a shit on a paragraph because it was some work I'd done that didn't pan out at all. This was before I'd ever heard of a VCS system. Subversion 1.0 was released 6 months after I graduated, it turns out. So commented out code and multiple copies was all I had.

I forget which gym but I sent them an email cancellation ("in writing") and they told me I had to come in. So I cancelled the card. They had some bullshit agreement with my bank where the subscription followed to my new card. So I cancelled the bank account.
Bank accounts don't need to be some terminal relationship. If they don't treat you right, leave.

Cancel culture is just excommunication for heresy with better PR.
Corporations, especially banks, have been co-opted by the government and used for enforcing their whims. This is one example of that.
I think it's the opposite way around really. Banks aren't allowed to fail thanks to their pet government since 2008 at least.
Pretty much all the payment processors cut off Wikileaks without even the government asking them to. And all they did is publish evidence of war crimes.

You're probably not good at interviewing.
It does seem to be the common factor. Then again the industrialized interview processes some companies (some of which have since had bulk layoffs) suggests another possibility.
I hate having to develop interviewing as a skill. I'd rather develop my development skills.
Have a BS in Comp Sci and work on backend/distributed systems with several years of experience? You'll have no problem finding a gig.
This is me. But I had at least one round of phone interviews with about 40 companies before I landed one. Maybe I'm bad at interviewing. A couple of places put me through ~8 hours of interviews all for nothing. I will also add that 3-4 of the places I interviewed with have since had a chunk of layoffs right up to discussions here about them. Maybe I actually got lucky? It sure didn't feel like it after that many failures in a row. Luckily I landed a new role that I'm finding I like.
Lots of game streams with no one watching them, sure. Meanwhile "Just Chatting" is by far the largest category. And the biggest channel on right now is a pretty young woman in pajamas.
