I think there is a natural tail-off, but the 12+ year category rolls up this long tail into a substantial total.

To be honest, I quite enjoyed seeing grc.com again after so many years. It brought back a lot of memories.

I thought I'd add my experience:

* Opened page in new tab, switched to tab after reading a few other things.

* Saw a url in the drop-down at the top, different to url of page, briefly pondered whether I should go to that instead.

* Decided to copy/paste and go there.

* Couldn't type in editor, closed tab thinking it didn't work in Chrome on OSX.

Now it's a holiday in the UK, and sunny too amazingly, so I'm just quickly flicking through items of interest but people generally don't read what you put in front of them. I've read through the comments now and, while one anecdote isn't data, you may want to think about how you present the write-version/read-only-version URLs.

I looked at the Google Maps API for adding a simple map display to my web application. Since it's a commercial app I'd need the Premier API which starts at $10,000 per year. Waaaay out of reach for me right now. Does anyone know of a good, affordable alternative?

It would be fairly low-volume geocoding from addresses, movable/zoomable map display and maybe some distance/area calculations in the future. I'd rather not need to maintain my own geodatabase and the API must support SSL.

The customer service in any Apple store is excellent though, I haven't seen similar anywhere else. Not everyone has the luxury of one nearby but the store staff seem to have a lot of personal discretion in replacing things that are out of warranty.

Of course, the huge sales margins help to make this possible. Take advantage of this if you can. I've stood in their flagship store on Oxford Street and told a passing employee that my power supply had caught fire (slight exaggeration - minor scorching around the frayed part when it shorted) and been whisked away quickly and given a replacement.

Oh, that's interesting. And yes, boggles the mind why they'd bother.

While I'm sure Tesla wouldn't accept just an apology from Jeremy Clarkson, there'll be "lost sales" damages in the squillions, this is very true. Clarkson's offended entire countries without remorse and everyone involved moves on and gets on with their lives.

Does anyone know the jurisdiction for this legal action? I suspect treatment of the case in the UK will differ to that in the US.

While IANA mental health professional by any means, reading your post you sound more bored than depressed. Getting through your college work with little effort and maturing beyond your peer groups typical socialising will contribute heavily to regular boredom. You are also at a point where lots of people are at a loss for what to do with their lives.

I certainly can't offer any concrete advice, people close to you and professionals you may have access to at college can. Take advantage of what they can do for you.

Also, Siberian Husky is marked as "Badass" protection. Are you sure you don't have these the wrong way round? :)

Fun to play with, but I've got to disagree with an Alaskan Malamute as "Decent" protection alongside a Collie or Dalmatian. My 52kg male is frankly terrifying and would tear chunks off an intruder!
