I write the open-source photo editor Filmulator as a hobby.

I'm also the lead software dev on the PhobGCC hall-effect motherboard for Gamecube controllers.

The fastest drag racing cars still are internal combustion. When raw speed is the goal, the torque doesn't have to be efficient, you can get it from an engine spinning away in its power band with a controlled amount of clutch or torque converter slipping.

This is still crazy from a road car though.

Besides being cheaper, the induction motors have the advantage that if they are used only as auxiliary motors, you can cut the power supply to them at any time, in which case they will consume nothing.

EESMs have this advantage too, you can simply cut power to the field winding.

Efficiency varies according to the load and RPM.

Permanent magnet motors have higher peak efficiency but EESMs are better in non ideal conditions, particularly low torque high RPM i.e. highway cruising where efficiency is more critical than at low speeds.

My LG OLED TV does have a headphone jack, and I send that through a mixer (combined with my CRT gaming setup's output, my record player, and my PC's output) to my stereo.

Speaking of "natural scrolling" it is horrible because most scrolling is downward and "natural" is an ergonomically inferior pushing action instead of pulling.

It's only natural on the actual display itself.

Anothe affront to nature by Apple, along with killing the headphone jack.

I made myself a pixel font for composite (well, monochrome) video output on an RP2040:

https://github.com/PhobGCC/PhobGCC-SW/blob/main/PhobGCC/rp20...

(search for 1 to see letterforms)

The letters are 8x15 and verticals are 2 pixels wide to work better on older CRT televisions with less-sophisticated chroma filtering on their composite inputs.

I explicitly tried to avoid locking into 45 degree diagonals...

My only question now is, how do I turn this font into something I can use on a computer? I couldn't figure it out the last time I tried.

If you can put something in it it doesn't count as crumple zone and the car has to be engineered with a separate crumple zone anyway.

What has changed is that the US's failure in Iran has directly impacted many of its former allies all at once, and the current administration clearly shows that it doesn't care about them at all.

This lack of consideration will lead to significantly less favorable trading for all of the businesses you listed, regardless of their current prowess.
