Kinda surprising to me, since i had some trouble with Cursor & Co. once the file went over ~800 lines. It repeatedly failed to edit it, until i split it up into multiple logical components. As it should have been from the beginning...

The US also depends on several bases in Europe and other countries. If the decision is made to close them, they're going to have a harder time projecting all that power. I may not be a military expert, but i'm guessing that would also influence operations in the Houthis region.

Backticks are used for certain letters in several European languages. à, ì, ù, ò. Depending on the editor, it's kinda annoying. Normal quotes or double quotes usually don't do that. Also, the key is right beside the backspace key, which feels kinda far away for my hands (which of course also depends on the keyboard).
Yes. But to me it feels far away compared to the quotes. And depending on the editor, it may end up above a letter if you forget to press space. For example "à". It can be a bit annoying.
I'll never understand why JS decided to use backticks. It's so weird to type on German keyboard.

I grew up in a city that was once an important part of the salt trade routes to Bohemia. These routes were called "Goldener Steig" (golden path), and salt was considered "white gold". Entire wars were fought for salt. And now it's so abundant, that we're sitting on mountains of it, not knowing what to do with it. Thinking about that feels kinda unreal.

I'd say it depends on the area and the type of business. In Lower Bavaria it's quite common to use informal language even with strangers. Any mechanic, plumber or other craftsmen will use "Du" the moment they see you. Formal language is usually used in a more formal environment, like banks or maybe some fancy restaurant or fancy shop.

Idk, maybe indirectly due to wear and tear or whatever. What i'm trying to say, though, is that the dependency on oil should be reduced in general. Nobody needs tupperware to last for centuries. That might also be the point of most environmentalists.

These nutjobs were all over Twitter, Facebook & Co. Usually platforms that reward engagement with more visibility. The people who were pushing this narrative were relying heavily on a mix of gullible people, fake accounts and bots. Many accounts being merely a few weeks or up to a month old. This is essentially the reason i left Twitter in the first place. I'm observing the conspiracy milieu for over 10 years now. This tactic isn't new, they already used this in 2009 to push comments on certain websites to their side. Back then, it was mostly manual work. Also, thanks to social media, they don't need help from trashy news agencies to be seen.
Not from the US, but i don't see how it was ever a "taboo". The general gist was "we don't know" or "unlikely". However, what i did see on Social Media, was a bunch of nutjobs pushing their nonsense about "deep state", "population control" and so on.

That looks more like a somewhat recent thing. There is the Ademe study, which showed that renewable would be a good idea for France. Which was swept under the table, because it didn't fit Macrons idea of going full speed nuclear.

Maybe having a sizeable renewable fleet would have helped to avoid much of the problems France has now. But i guess they also had a government playing that back and forth game...
