If you feel this way about tech now, you probably picked the wrong field. It's a really exciting time if you're actually interested in this stuff.

If you want an AI-resistant job, look at the trades (plumbers, electricians, etc.). There's a huge shortage, the pay is good, and it will be a while before robots are dexterous enough to have an impact there.

Don't bother with translating. It's already being impacted.

This isn't really new (it came out a couple of years ago), but as far as I know it was the first handheld FPGA emulator available.

There's debate in this thread about whether FPGA emulation is better or more accurate. In my experience it is, especially in recreation of sound as I remember it from back when these games were new.

Odd, I’m not a huge fan of many things Apple is doing these days, but I’ve consistently found their homegrown content to be very high quality.

Not true. Save for long-haul drives (> 250-300 mile trips), the daily experience of driving a Tesla is objectively superior in every way to every gas car I've driven. It has nothing to do with image or idol worship and everything to do with the daily experience of driving it.

I also prefer it for long-haul drives, but I have a 4-year-old and taking a 25 minute break every 3 hours works well for us. If you're purely in a hurry, a gas car will refuel much faster (but if I'm in a hurry, I'm flying, not long-haul driving).

VR pool is pretty terrible if you've played much pool - resting a hand on the table is fundamental and doesn't work in VR.

Which is ironic because statistically it's dramatically safer than 20, 30, or 40 years ago.

I think, given the extreme bullishness of this area over the past few years, the opposite is more likely true: for every loser there are hundreds of winners.

That's silly. Just look at the growth in the total crypto market cap over the last few years (or even over the last six months) and it's clear that this can't be true.

The vast majority of people who have been involved are way ahead.
