Sounds like you have developed some great product development skills in your time spent and learned about what doesn't work for building a business. Now it's time to fill that gap. Some questions to focus on for now are:
* Who are the people I want to serve?
* How do I find out what problems they have that I can help?
* How do I reach them?
* What can create to help them solve their problems?
* How do I get them to see me and my products as the solution to their problems?
* How do I become trustworthy enough in their eyes to try my products?
You can learn how to do a lot of this yourself and there are many courses out there like 30x500 that can help. As an alternative, you might want to find and partner with a good 'Business Guy' who can bring the audience while you build the product.
Really like this idea, a wizard to get all your preferences on setup that preconfigures defaults. Expand it to programming toolsets or whatever your primary use is and have a way to save and share it between different linux versions or even OS's a la dotfiles.

I am currently in the process of hiring myself and I don't think there is any way senior engineers will go for such a prolonged process.
What we do instead: filter through resumes, pick ones that we like for a 15-30 minute phone screen followed by a 1 hour conversation with the entire team if we decide to move forward.
I'm sure if you wrote a technical post about something you have deep experience with in mobile or web dev, many people would probably feel the same way reading your article. There's too much for any one person to know.
Read those articles and take the time to research the parts you don't understand until you really grok it. Read and try to understand good code, take every opportunity to go a little bit deeper into the tools you use (web frameworks, libraries, etc) if they are open-source. Getting better sometimes means knowing more, but mostly it's about not being afraid to dive in.
There is no balancing health with X, everything else balances on health.
I really admire that you are capable of thinking that long term but 20 years is a ridiculously long amount of time. You're on hacker news - what lean approaches can you take to test out ideas for making your dream come true now? Can you open a pop up for a weekend with a landing page to market it? Buy a food truck after saving for 6 months? Take the money you're saving and invest it in yourself, maybe you won't be guaranteed the mil, but at least you will move toward your goals now.
